Common Ground Coffeehouse 
Common Ground Coffeehouse on Friday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. will present the movie War for the Planet of the Apes. It is rated PG-13 but only for CGI violence. All ages welcome. Complimentary supper at 6:30 p.m.

Study Hall 
Tuesdays from 5 to 7 p.m., the Island Free Library will be holding Power Hours for Scholars. Staff will be on hand to supervise and facilitate research, monitor group projects, and answer basic comprehension questions. Free pizza!

Fun Fridays 
Fun activities after school every Friday at the Island Free Library at 1 p.m. A different activity every week like Legos, Arts & Crafts, Board Games, and STEM projects.

Soup Group

Ecumenical Choir Practice 
The Ecumenical Choir will be having practice for the Thanksgiving Concert every Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Harbor Church.

Kids Halloween Party 
Kids  Halloween Party! Saturday, Oct. 28, at 1 p.m. at the Island Free Library. Lots of fun and games. Come dressed to show off your costume in our Dodge St. parade!

Book Presentation 
On Saturday, Oct. 28, at 4:30 p.m. at the Library, Sy Montgomery, author of “Soul of an Octopus: A Surprising Exploration into the Wonder of Consciousness” (2015 National Book Award for Nonfiction), will join Howard Mansfield, author of “Summer Over Autumn: A Small Book of Small-Town Life,” to speak about their books. This event is co-sponsored by the Island Bound Bookstore. Refreshments will be served.

Halloween Carnevil
Yellow Kittens presents the Halloween Carnevil on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Featuring DJ Dugan, costume contests, drink specials, spooky decor, and more. $10 cover charge to benefit the BI Volunteer Fire Department.

Reflection Garden Dedication Ceremony 
There is a Dedication Ceremony for the Reflection Garden at the Harbor Baptist Church lawn on Sunday, Oct. 29, at 11:30 a.m. Join us in celebrating this beautiful new space.

Trunk or Treat Fall Festival 
There is a Trunk or Treat Fall Festival at the Block Island School on Sunday, Oct. 29, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. (raindate Monday, Oct. 30). Trunk or Treating, games and pumpkins, kid activities for all ages. $25 entry fee per vehicle. Fundraiser for the Close Up Jr./Sr. class trip to Washington D.C.

Crazy-As-A-Coot Bird Walks
There are Crazy-As-A-Coot Bird Walks on Tuesday, Oct. 31, at 8 a.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 8 a.m. Call 401-595-7055 for location.

Caregiver Group 
There is a free Caregiver Support Group meeting every other Tuesday afternoon. The next session will be held on Oct. 31, at 4 p.m. at the Community Center meeting room.

Helping Hands Food Pantry 
Every other Wednesday at the Harbor Church. The next Helping Hands Pantry will be Wednesday, Nov. 1, from 1 to 5 p.m.

Blood Drive
The last blood drive of the year will be held on Thursday, Nov. 2, at Harbor Church from 1 to 5 p.m. Bring your driver's license. If you have questions regarding eligibility call 453-8307 or if you want to make an appointment visit www.ribc.org.

A solo performance of Mary Shelly’s classic gothic horror! Written and performed by Greg Oliver Bodine and Directed by DeLisa M. White. Friday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Island Free Library.

Bereavement Group 
The Bereavement Group will be meeting on Sunday, Nov. 5, at 3 p.m. at St. Ann’s By-The-Sea.

Screens, The Teen Brain, & Behavior
The Wellness Coalition is sponsoring a parenting program by psychologist and author Matt Bellace on What are screens doing to the teen brain? Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. at the BI School.

Grief Group 
There is a free Grief Support Group every other Tuesday afternoon. The next session will be held on Nov. 7, at 4 p.m. at the Community Center meeting room.

Outstanding Owls 
Saw-whet owl banding will be on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. Meet at the parking area for the Second Bluffs on Mohegan Trail. Sponsored by the James Stover Exploration Series.
