David Darling, 89
David H. Darling, 89, of Bellingham, Mass., passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 24, 2017 at Milford Regional Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Irene T. (Boyle) Darling. Born in Woonsocket, R.I. on Sept. 23, 1927, he is the son of the late Fred S. and Gladys A. (Howes) Darling. David is the loving father of Kathleen Dufresne and her husband, Leo of Bellingham, Mass.; Patricia E. St. Gelais and her husband, Richard, of Bellingham, Mass.; and Sandra Darling Rice and her husband, Howie, of Block Island, R.I. He leaves his cherished grandchildren, Belinda Mazzuchelli and her husband, Joseph; Seth Dulac and his wife, Jessica Veldman; Richard Drainville, Dayna Charbonneau, Cyrus Dulac, and the late Jack Martel; and great-grandchildren Brendan Mazzuchelli, Brooke Mazzuchelli and Amber Charbonneau. He is the brother of Warren Darling and his wife Patricia of Woonsocket, R.I.; Shirley Tyler and her late husband, Cliff of Circleville, Ohio, and his late twin sister, who died at birth, Ruth Darling. He leaves many nieces and nephews and their families.
He had been a resident of Bellingham since 1948. Mr. Darling owned and operated Dave’s Garage in Bellingham for over 30 years until retiring. Previously he worked at Wood Avenue Motor Sales in Woonsocket.
He was a member of the Massachusetts Beach Buggy Association. He raised rabbits for over 50 years and was fondly known as “The Bunny Man.” He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed going to and fishing at Race Point on Cape Cod. Devoted to his family, he will be greatly missed.
