UPDATE: RIAC airport meeting postponed
The meeting scheduled for today, Monday, March 20, with officials from the Rhode Island Airport Corporation, Block Island Airport manager AVPorts, and Block Island town officials has been postponed, according to RIAC Communications Director Patti Goldstein.
The meeting “will be rescheduled in April and will be an open meeting to discuss all airport issues with the community,” Goldstein said.
The Block Island Times reported in this week’s edition that the meeting would be held but not open to the public. There were several issues on the table, including general airport operations, fees collected at the airport and the noise generated by the helicopter tours that started from the airport last summer. — Lars Trodson
