“The Reckoning” documentry showing

This documentary film about the creation and ongoing struggles of the International Criminal Court, will be shown at St. Andrew’s Parish Center on Thursday, August 6, at 7 p.m., followed by a discussion led by resident Peter Kinoy, one of the film’s creators.

Beach vehicle passes on sale

State-required passes to drive on beaches are on sale at the Police Station for $75. The passes from the state Coastal Resources Management Council will be sold on Fridays from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. You must present a valid vehicle registration, proof of insurance and a driver’s license.

Jim Wallice Speaks at Harbor Baptist Church

Jim Wallice, author, editor of Sojourners magazine, evangelical theologian and commentator on public issues, will be speaking at the Harbor Baptist Church on Sunday, August 16 at 7:30 p.m. His talk, entitled “Changing the Wind: Prophetic Faith in the Obama Era,” is sponsored by Block Islanders for Peace and Justice.
