The Land Trust's monthly meeting was held Monday, Oct. 20, at the Harbor Baptist Church. Amidst the good smells emanating from the kitchen, where the church's Roll Call Dinner was being prepared, trust officers addressed a handful of routine issues and then closed the meeting to the public.

• Chair Dennis Heinz reported that Jane Musky, whose property abuts the Hodge Family Wildlife Preserve, wrote a letter to the trust saying that people have been trespassing on her property. Musky said in the letter that Hodge visitors have been "going over to her property and looking into her windows and walking on her porch," Heinz reported. He said Musky sought recommendations from the trust officers as to how to combat the problem. The Hodge Management Committee, which was scheduled to walk the property Wednesday, Oct. 22, will look into the matter.

• Claire Costello reported that Don McCluskey has been working hard at updating conservation plat maps of the island. The new maps, samples of which Costello exhibited, detail the island's greenway trails; the properties on which there are conservation-held easements; the areas that are undeveloped, but unprotected; and what's been preserved since the last plat map update (which was two to three years ago). Costello asked the other officers for their feedback and requested that they look at the maps thoroughly in order to point out further needed updates.

• Treasurer Ray Torrey reported that Ross Campbell had cleared the vines and grasses from most of the trust's Fresh Pond property's walls.
