Big doings at the Harbor Church

To the Editor:
Many of you have noticed the changes going on at the Harbor Church. We are converting the third floor into four year-round, affordable apartments and already have numerous people eager to move in! Construction, under the capable direction of Herm Mast, who is donating his time, is on schedule and we are aiming for an open house around Columbus Day with occupancy Jan. 1.
Additionally, we are repairing our historic building’s exterior — 130 years of leaks and rotting has caused some damage, but now we are getting it on the run! And we have re-contoured the front yard and added a pergola so that more programs, crafts events, concerts, ceremonies, etc, can be held in a more beautiful and functional setting.
We are pleased to announce that we have crossed the million dollar mark in gifts and pledges of our $1.2 million goal. Of course, that leaves more to go, specifically $75,000 for the affordable apartment renovations. If you would like to learn more or contribute, please contact Will Young (401) 741-3321 or Tony Pappas (508) 272-8822. A huge thank you to all who have contributed to date.
Your gifts are making a difference!
