Common Ground Coffeehouse
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be shown at Common Ground Coffeehouse at Harbor Church at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 3. A complimentary supper will be served at the earlier summer time of 6 p.m. No charge. All ages welcome.

Summer Sport Leagues
Block Island Recreation Department is sponsoring co-ed softball league, 4 vs.4 summer beach volleyball, adult basketball league, and 7 vs. 7 soccer league. All leagues are 16+. Registration forms available at town recreation office. 466-3223.

Hurricanes Home Baseball/Softball Games
Girls JV plays Wickford on Saturday, June 4, at 10:45 p.m. Boys JV plays San Miguel on Wednesday, June 8, at 12:30 p.m. All games are played at Heinz Field.

Blood Drive
There will be a blood drive on Friday, June 3, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Harbor Church. You must be at least 16 years old to donate.

Free Lyme Disease Testing
There will be free Lyme and babesiosis testing at the Medical Center on Saturday, June 4, from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. All residents age 18 and older are welcome to attend.

Tango Dance Class
Once again the wonderful community of tango dancers from Narragansett and mainland Rhode Island are gearing up to invade/join us for an afternoon of Argentine Tango at Harbor Church! From 1 - 2 p.m. is open class for all levels. The basic move in Tango is walking with your partner to beautiful music! From 2 - 4 p.m. is Tango practice. June 4. The Bereaved Parents Group will be meeting on Sunday, June 5, at 5 p.m. at St. Ann’s By-The-Sea.

Holy Door Designation Service
On Sunday, June 5, St. Andrew Church on Chapel Street will receive a great honor and distinction. The Most Rev. Thomas Tobin of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence will designate the main entrance to the Church as a Holy Door for the duration of the Jubilee Year of Mercy. The service is at 10 a.m. followed by the Mass for Confirmation. People of all faiths or none are welcome to walk through the Holy Door with the intent to practice mercy: love instead of hate; forgiveness instead of vengeance, and mercy instead of neglect. Misericordes sicut Pater: “Be merciful like the Father.”

Blues on the Block Golf Tournament
On Monday, June 6, there will be a Golf Tournament benefiting Blues on the Block. The golf tournament will be held at Meadowbrook Golf Course in Richmond, with a 10:30 a.m. shotgun start. The format will be foursome playing best ball. $100 per person includes 18 holes, cart, lunch, raffle tickets and hospitality after. Classical Organ Concert
Walter Hilse will present a concert at Harbor Church on Monday, June 6, at 7:30 p.m. The program will include music by Bach, Buxtehude, Hilse, Mendelssohn, Mulet and Widor. Walter Hilse teaches at the Manhattan School of Music and is organist for St. Peter's Lutheran, Redeemer Presbyterian and Congregation Rodeph Sholom. Donation requested.

Memory Loss & Dementia Discussion
Karen Hawthorn and Mark Taylor from the Elms in Westerly will lead an informative discussion on memory loss and dementia. They will explore the stages of dementia and the changes associated with each stage as well as suggestions for behavior management and coping with caregiver stress. June 8, at 2 p.m. at the Community Center.

Eco Depot
The Eco Depot will be at the Block Island Transfer Station on Saturday, June 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Drop off your household hazardous waste.

Tai Chi Class

Farmer's Market
Block Island Farmer's Market starts on Saturday, June 11, and runs every Wednesday and Saturday all season. The Wednesday market is on the Spring House Lawn and the Saturday market is at Legion Park. Both are from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

Bite Of Block Island Food Show
The Block Island Times sponsors “A Bite of Block Island” at the BIMI Center on Sunday, June 12, from 4 to 6 p.m. This is a fundraiser for the Helping Hands Food Pantry. Tickets are $15 and are available at The Block Island Times office and the Chamber of Commerce.

PPP '90s Night Fundraiser
All '90s all night, Friday, June 17, at 10 p.m. with DJ Libre. A night to raise funds for our good friend and employee Julia, who, after an accident this spring, is now paralyzed from the waist down. Come dressed in your best '90s inspired digs. Think Clueless, 90210, Saved by the Bell, Grunge. We will be donating 10 percent of the nights sales to help with Julia's medical bills. So come feeling generous and ready to party!

Discover the fascinating nature of Block Island. June 18, at 9 a.m. at the Hodge Preserve. Wear shorts and water shoes.

Music Festival
The Block Island Music Festival runs from June 14 to 19, at Captain Nick's. There is live music with different bands playing every hour from 5 p.m. to close. This is a free festival.

Parkinson's Disease Discussion
Mary Ellen Thibodeau, Nurse Coordinator for the American Parkinson's Disease Association will talk about the many symptoms and types of the disease. She will discuss how boxing and exercise has helped many patients with Parkinsons. On Monday, June 20, at 1 p.m. at the Community Center.

Taize Prayer Service
Taize Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, June 22, at 7 p.m. at St. Ann's By-The-Sea.

Gallery Opening
There is a gallery opening on Thursday, June 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Spring Street Gallery for paintings by Susan Coffin.

Donations For Legion Yard Sale
