Old Harbor Walking Tours
Join the Block Island Historical Society for a walking tour of Old Harbor. Meet at Rebecca’s Statue, 10 a.m., Thursdays all summer.

Beach Mass
St. Ann's Beach Mass every is Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Town Beach. All are welcome. Bring your chair or beach towel. For more Infoformation call 401-466-2911.

Movie Night

Farmers’ Market
Block Island Farmers’ Market runs every Wednesday and Saturday all season. The Wednesday market is on The Spring House lawn and the Saturday market is at Legion Park. Both are from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The Farmers' Market on Saturday, August 6, will be held on the Spring House Lawn.

Art Night At The Museum
Every Thursday all summer from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Block Island Historical Society. This event is free.

Not New Boutique
The Not New Boutique will be open on Wednesdays in August from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Andrew Parish Center.

Gallery Openings
There is a gallery opening on Saturday, August 6, at the Jessie Edwards Studio from 5 to 7 p.m. featuring paintings by Kate Knapp. There is a gallery opening on Thursday, August 11, at the Spring Street Gallery from 5 to 7 p.m. featuring paintings by Claire Marschak.

Night Sky Viewing
There is a night Sky Viewing on Friday, Aug. 5, at 9 p.m. at the Hodge Preserve. Program will be the following night if sky conditions are poor.

Triathlon
This race begins with a quarter mile open water ocean swim. Followed by 12 miles of biking over rolling hills with breathtaking views of the island. The last stretch is a 4 mile run on beautiful Cresent Beach. Saturday, August 6,  at Fred Benson Town Beach. August 6, at 9:00 a.m. at the Town Beach Pavilion. Block Island Art & Artisan Festival
More than 20 artisans will be exhibiting Saturday, August 6, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, August 7, from 12 noon to 5 p.m.  at the annual Block Island Art Festival on the lawn of the Harbor Church. Paintings, jewelry, glass, home goods, and photography. Free and open to the public.

Mary D. Ball
The annual Mary D. Ball is being held on Saturday, Aug. 6, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Sullivan House.

Medical Center Fun Run
Sunday, August 7, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at Fred Benson Town Beach. The Race starts at 9:30 a.m. Register at www.active.com. This race benefits the Block Island Medical Center.

Great Toy Boat Race
Sunday, Aug. 7, at 11:30 a.m. at the Ocean Avenue Bridge. Benefits the Block Island Early Learning Center.

Bereaved Parents Group
The Bereaved Parents Group will be meeting on Sunday, Aug. 7, at 5 p.m. at St. Ann’s By-The-Sea.

Free Health Screening
Free Health Screening will be provided by Clinica Esperanza/Hope Clinic of Providence at Harbor Church on Monday, August 8, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Physicians and nurses will offer blood pressure checks, glucose checks, women's health info, and nutrition education.

Kings Of The Block
The Kings of the Block 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament is on Monday, August 8, at Ball O'Brien Park. Registration starts at 1 p.m. Benefits the Block Island Volunteer Fire And Rescue Departments.

Bingo
Bingo night is on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the Block Island Volunteer Fire Department’s Fire Barn.

BIMI Lecture Series
There is a Block Island Maritime fundraiser on Tuesday, August 9, at 7 p.m. Goeff Kaufman will be performing "Songs and Stories of the Sea and Our Lands."

Attwater & Donnelly Performances
The group Attwater & Donnelly will be performing a kids program at 10:30 a.m. and an all ages show at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at the Island Free Library.

Block Island Gardeners Luncheon
Join the Block Island Gardeners for Luncheon at the National on Wednesday,  August 10, at noon. Dr. Jessica Lubell, Assoc. Film Class At The Library

Summer Concert Series
Arlene Kies Tribute Concert is on Wednesday, August 10, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Andrew Parish Center. The Summer concert series will be honoring her with a preformance by her husband, pianist, Chris Kies and her daughter, Clarinetist, Charlotte Kies.

Farm To Table Dinner

Art Trail Night
Thusday, August 11, a tour bus will be making stops in town, at the Historical Society, and the airport on a continuous loop between 6 and 8 p.m. to see all of the galleries participating in the Art Trail Night. Meet at the parking lot in front of the Harbor Church at 6 p.m.

Green Screening film
"How to Let Go of the World" is showing on Thursday, August 11, at 7 p.m. at the Island Free Library.

Mac & Friends Events

The Mac & Friends Benefit Hawaiian Luau is on August 12, and is being held at the Block Island Maritime Institute from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $80. for adults, $20. for children 12 and under and are available at Lila Delman, Offshore Properties, Kimberly’s and the Poor People’s Pub. Mac & Friens Benefit Art Auction & Chihuly Raffle is on August 13, at the Block Island Maritime Institute from 5 to 7:15 p.m.  The Art Auction will feature artists from a wide range of disciplines, from painters and sculptors to jewelers and ceramicists to photographers and designers.

Sense Of Wonder Walk
The Ocean View Foundation is Sponsoring a Sense of Wonder Twilight/Night Walk Friday, August 12, at 7:30 p.m. Call 401-595-7055 for location and to sign up.

Conserfest Events
There is a pre-party for conserfest being held at the Old Island Pub on Friday, August 13, at 9 p.m. Conserfest is on Saturday, August 14, at the Town Beach Pavilion all around 1 p.m. There will be multiple bands preforming throughout the afternoon. Conserfest then moves to Yellow Kittens around 9 p.m.

Celebrate The Pond
Saturday, August 13, Help celebrate the Great Salt Pond with events and activities all day long. Check our online calendar and All Around The Block for locations and times. These events are sponsored by the Committee For The Great Slat Pond.

Annual Hal Madison Race
The Hal Madison Race is on Saturday, August 13. There will be a skippers' meeting at the Block Island Club at 10 a.m. The first gun will be at 1 p.m. outside the entrance to the Great Salt Pond. There will be an awards party held after the racing at the Block Island Club at 6 p.m.

CROP Hunger Walk

Arts & Crafts Guild Fair
The Arts & Crafts Guild Fair is on Sunday, August 14, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the lawn of the Block Island Historical Society.

Speaker & Book Signing Event
Jim Wallis, CEO of Sojourners, best-selling author, and frequent television spokesman for progressive Christianity, will speak at a public forum at Harbor Church on Tuesday, August 16, at 7 p.m. His topic will be "Racism, White Privilege, and the Bridge to a New America." There will be time for questions and a book-signing of America's Original Sin.
