Common Ground Coffeehouse presents Delta blues slide guitarist Robert Hill, a member of the NY Blues Hall of Fame, performing with his daughter Paulina on Friday, Aug. 12, at 7 p.m. A complimentary supper available at 6:30 p.m. Weather permitting the show will be in the back yard of Harbor Church.

Not New Boutique
The Not New Boutique, located in the building in back of the Parish Center, on Spring St., is open every Wednesday through Aug. from 9a.m. to 3 p.m. Donations are still being accepted! Please place clean/gently used clothing in the bin by the side of the Parish Center. The Not New Boutique is run by the ladies of the Saint Andrew’s Catholic Ladies Guild.
Block Island Farmers’ Market runs every Wednesday and Saturday all season. The Wednesday market is on The Spring House lawn and the Saturday market is at Legion Park. Both are from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

Annual Hal Madison Race
The Hal Madison Race is on Saturday, Aug. 13. There will be a skippers’ meeting at the BI Club at 10 a.m. The first gun will be at 1 p.m. outside the entrance to the Great Salt Pond. There will be an awards party held after the racing at the BI Club at 6 p.m.

Speaker & Book Signing Event
Jim Wallis, CEO of Sojourners, best-selling author, and frequent television spokesman for progressive Christianity, will speak at a public forum at Harbor Church on Tuesday, Aug. 16, at 7 p.m. His topic will be "Racism, White Privilege, and the Bridge to a New America." There will be time for questions and a book-signing of America's Original Sin.
BIMI Lecture Series
Yvonne Masakowski, Associate Proffesor of Strategic Leadership and Leader Development, US Naval War College, will be speaking on Tuesday, Aug. 16, at the BIMI Center at 7 p.m. The topic is "Whaling Women of New England."
