Common Ground Coffeehouse
Friday, Aug. 19, at p.m. Common Ground Coffeehouse will present the lively folk/pop sister act of Carrie and Libby Johnson, from Hartford and NYC, who have recorded multiple CDs separately and together. Performance will be in the sanctuary of Harbor Church where Libby will play piano. A complimentary supper is available beginning at 6:30 p.m. Donations for the musicians are welcomed.

Art Classes

Old Harbor Walking Tours
Join the Block Island Historical Society for a walking tour of Old Harbor. Meet at Rebecca’s Statue, 10 a.m., Thursdays all summer.

Beach Mass
St. Ann's Beach Mass every is Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Fred Benson Town Beach. All are welcome. For more information call (401) 466-2911.

Art Night At The Museum
Every Thursday all summer from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Block Island Historical Society. This event is free.

Not New Boutique
The Not New Boutique, located in the building in back of the Parish Center, on Spring St., is open every Wednesday through Aug. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donations are still being accepted! Please place clean/gently used clothing in the bin by the side of the Parish Center. The Not New Boutique is run by the members of the Saint Andrew Catholic Ladies Guild.

Farmers’ Market
Block Island Farmers’ Market runs every Wednesday and Saturday all season. The Wednesday market is on The Spring House lawn and the Saturday market is at Legion Park. Both are from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

There is gallery opening on Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Spring Street Gallery from 5 to 7 p.m. featuring paintings by Jerry Powers. A great walk for wildlife along the scenic north end of Clay Head. Aug. 20, at 8 a.m. Meet at the pull-off by Sachem Pond on Corn Neck Road.

Conservation Saturday Service
Block Island Ecumenical Ministries invites you to the annual Conservation Saturday service at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20, at Peter Wood's property on Old Mill Rd. Jayme Hennessy of Salve Regina University will be speaking; children from Block Island School will be singing; Nancy Greenaway and Rosalie Kivlehan will read poems. Breakfast follows in Peter's home.

BIMI Lecture Series
Pamela Loring, PhD canidate, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, will be speaking on Tuesday, Aug. 23, at 7 p.m. at the BIMI center. The topic is "Tracking the Movements of Common Terns, Roseate Terns, and Piping Plovers in Southern New England.

Tea with a Gardener
The Block Island Gardeners’ annual Tea with a Gardener will be held at the innovative garden of Anita and Tony Miller, 827 Beacon Hill Road, on Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 2 p.m. (rain date 8/25). Look for the daffodils at the third driveway on the left coming from West Side Rd. Please park on the road and walk up the drive. Refreshments will be served.

Summer Concert Series
The Summer Concert Series presents Matt Jenson's Mix-Up Mix-Up on Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Andrew Parish Center.

American Legion Meeting
Merrill Slate American Legion Post 36 will have its monthly meeting on Thursday, Aug. 25, at 5:15 p.m. at Legion Hall on West Side Rd. All visiting military and veterans are invited to join us.

Green Screening film
"Climate of Change" - short films from the Island Institute, ME., will be shown on Thursday, Aug. 25, at 7 p,m. at the Island Free Library on Dodge St.

Oysta Fest
The Block Island Maritime Institute presents the Second Annual Oysta Fest on Saturday, Aug. 27, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the BIMI center. Admission is $20 and kids under 12 with a parent get in free.

Night Sky Viewing
There is a night Sky Viewing on Saturday, Aug. 27, at 8 p.m. at the Hodge Property on Corn Neck Rd.

Arts & Crafts Guild Fair
There is an Arts and Crafts Guild Fair on Sunday, Aug. 28, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Lawn of the Hisrorical Society.

Jazz Up Old Harbor Parks
