Common Ground Coffeehouse
This Friday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m. Common Ground Coffeehouse will present Britt Connors and Bourbon Renewal of Boston who blend blues, folk, country, jazz, and pop in what they call "Y'All-Ternative" music. A complimentary supper of bean soup and chowder will be served at 6:30 p.m. Donations for the musicians are encouraged.

Farmers’ Market
Block Island Farmers’ Market runs every Wednesday and Saturday all season from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The Wednesday and Saturday market are both on The Spring House lawn.

Gallery Opening
There is a gallery opening at HeartSpace Gallery on Friday, Sept. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. featuring new work by Alex Chapman.

Not New Boutique
Friday, Sept. 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 17 from 9 to 3 p.m. at the St. Andrew Parish Center. These are the last sales for 2016. No donations after Sept. 10.

Taste Of Block Island Weekend
The Taste of Block Island Weekend is Sept. 16 through 18. Sample all of the great activities, food and spirits that Block Island has to offer. Discounts, events, and all sorts of specials. Buttons can be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce office for $5 each.

Reducing Stress through Meditation

Historical Society Annual Meeting
The Historical Society's Annual Meeting is Saturday, Sept. 17, at 4 p.m. business meeting with Program to follow at 4:30 p.m. with a short talk about photographs from the 1970's by Dennis Lopez. The location is the St. Andrew Parish Center on Spring Street.

BI Beach Clean-up
The International Coastal Clean-up, Block Island Beach Clean-up is on Sunday, Sept. 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meet at Fred Benson Town Beach.

Literacy Volunteers At The Library

Archaeology Stakeholder Meeting
This meeting will feature a presentation by the Public Archaeology Laboratory, Inc. on a seventeenth-century Native American site exposed by the washout of Corn Neck Road, the only land route between the northern and southern portions of Block Island. Tuesday, Sept. 20, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Island Free Library.

Academic Achievement Discussion
Laurie Hazard, Ed. D. from Bryant University, will be speaking on The Habits of Mind for Academic Achievement and Lifelong Success. Laurie will be with the BI School students grades 5 thru 12 throughout the morning and then along with the BI School and the BI Wellness Coalition welcoming parents, faculty, and community members to attend the program in the afternoon. Covering both PCs and Macs, this workshop is designed specifically for those who are new to computers, or who feel they would like to have more instruction to be confident using a computer for personal use. Trip Around The Block
The Wronowski Family, Block Island Express, and Dead Eye Dick's invite all Block Island residents and businesses to take a Trip Around the Block aboard the Jessica W. high speed ferry. Wednesday, Sept. 21 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Trip leaves from the Old Harbor ferry dock.

American Legion Meeting

BI Tourism Coucnil Annual Meeting
The Block Island Tourism Council invites all to their Annual Meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 5 p.m. at the Spring House. Reception is at 5 p.m. and the meeting will start at 5:30 p.m. Hear about their efforts and plans as well as an update from the State Tourism Office.

BI Ecumenical Choir Rehersals

Free Lyme Disease Testing

Archaeology Day
