Common Ground Coffeehouse
Providence jazz, pop, and gospel singer Kim Trusty returns to the Common Ground Coffeehouse at Harbor Church on Friday, Sept. 30, at 7 p.m. A complimentary light supper is served at 6:30 p.m. Donations for the musician encouraged.

Farmers’ Market
Block Island Farmers’ Market runs every Wednesday and Saturday all season from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The Wednesday and Saturday market are both on The Spring House lawn.

Hurricane Home Games
There is a Varsity Soccer game on Friday, Sept. 30, at 2:45 p.m. against BCA. There is a Varsity Soccer game on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 12:45 p.m. against Times Square. There is a Varsity Soccer Game on Friday, Oct. 7, at 2:45 p.m. against Middlebridge. There is a Varsity Soccer Game on Friday, Oct. 14, at 12:45 p.m. against Oxford. All games are played at Hienz Field.

Tai Chi Classes
Every friday at the Community Center at 4 p.m. The classes are outside depending on the weather. Any age and beginers are welcome. Donations cover the costs. Wild Mushroom Hunting
Join Ryan Bouchard and Emily Schmidt for a presentation about the safe, edible, wild mushrooms of our state featuring mushrooms that can be found in the fall. At the Island Free Library on Friday, Sept. 30, at 6pm.

Free Lyme Disease Testing
Saturday, Oct. 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the BI Medical Center. People age 18 & older are welcome to attend. All people who have participated in the Yale/BIMC sponsored serosurvey study in the past are encouraged to return.

Archaeology Day
Come learn about the archaeological heritage of the Manisseans, the island’s original Native American residents, who  made their living for thousands of years in this unique homeland.  Saturday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. at the Historical Society.

Seal First Responder Training
Mystic Aquarium is having a Seal First Responder Training class on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. at the Town Hall.

Book And CD Release Party
Musician Virginia Dare and poet Jen Lighty are having a release party to celebrate their work at The Spring Street Gallery Saturday, Oct. 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. Lighty is celebrating the release of her new book of poetry, “Breaking Up With The Moon."

Motor Cycle Safety Class

BI Conservancy Annual Meeting
The public is invited to attend the BI Conservancy's annual meeting. Sunday, Oct. 2, at 3 p.m. at the Empire Theater. The guest speaker is Michael Oppenheimer discussing "Defending against sea level rise." 

Bereavement Group
The Bereavement Group will be meeting on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 5 p.m. at St. Ann's By-The-Sea.

Arts & Crafts Guild Fair
The Arts and Crafts Guild Fair is being combined with the last Farmers' Market of the season. Sunday, Oct. 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Lawn of the Historical Society.

The Second Annual Block Island BeatleFest will be held on Sunday, Oct. 9, 4 p.m. at the Empire Theater. Tickets are $20 for adults, students $5, under 12 are free. Tickets benefit Harbor Church and the Common Ground Coffeehouse and are for sale at the church.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
The BI Prayer Shawl Ministry wil be held on Monday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. at the Harbor Church.
