Common Ground Coffeehouse
This Friday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m. Common Ground Coffeehouse will present The Cashmans, the husband-and-wife duo of Jonathan and Britney Cashman. The New Englanders, now based in Orlando, perform a folk-acoustic variety of gospel and worship music. A complimentary light supper will be served at 6:30 p.m. Donations for the musicians are encouraged.

Hurricane Home Games
There is a Varsity Soccer Game on Friday, Oct. 7, at 2:45 p.m. against Middlebridge. There is a Varsity Soccer Game on Friday, Oct. 14, at 12:45 p.m. against Oxford. All games are played at Heinz Field.

Tai Chi Classes
Every Friday at the Community Center at 4 p.m. The classes are outside depending on the weather. Any age and beginners are welcome. Donations cover the costs. Studies show Tai Chi helps balance, blood pressure, depression, back pain, mood disorders, and sleep apnea. For more information contact Tom Hobin, PT at (720) 352-8707. 

Arts & Crafts Guild Fair and Last Farmers' Market
The Arts and Crafts Guild Fair is being combined with the last Farmers' Market of the season. Saturday, Oct. 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the lawn of the Historical Society.

The Second Annual Block Island BeatleFest will be held on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 4 p.m. at The Empire Theater. Tickets are $20 for adults, students $5, under 12 are free. Tickets benefit Harbor Church and the Common Ground Coffeehouse and are for sale at the Harbor Church, the Red Bird, and at the door.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
The B.I. Prayer Shawl Ministry wil be held on Monday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. at the Harbor Church.

Gardening Recap
On Saturday, Oct. 15, 4 p.m. at the Community Center, the Block Island Gardeners are sponsoring an informal discussion of what went right and wrong during the gardening season. Share your experience.  Always good tips for next year. Non-members welcome. Wine and cheese will be served.

Roll Call Dinner
The entire island is invited to share in a complete turkey dinner at the annual Roll Call Dinner at Harbor Church on Tuesday, Oct. 25,  from 5 to 7 p.m. The meal includes turkey with dressing, mashed potatoes, squash, beans, and homemade pies. Admission is by donation of any amount, but this is an important fundraiser for the church. Every year 400 to 500 people gather for this feast. Don't miss it! Taize Prayer Service
Taize Prayer Service is being held on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 5 p.m. at St. Ann’s By-The-Sea.

Hunter Safety Course
The Recreation Department is sponsoring a Hunter Safety Course. It is a two day class given by the Department of Environmental Management. The dates are  Saturday, Nov. 19, from 2 to 8 p.m.  and Sunday, Nov. 20, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. ( must attend both classes) at the Island Free Library . The cost is $35.00.
