Common Ground Coffeehouse
Common Ground Coffeehouse will present The Cashmans on Friday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. This duo from Orlando perform acoustic gospel and praise music. Complimentary supper served at 6:30 p.m. No charge but donations for musicians encouraged.
Tai Chi Classes
Every Friday at the Community Center at 4 p.m. The classes are outside depending on the weather. Any age and beginners are welcome. Donations cover the costs. Halloween Double Feature
The Island Free Library is showing “Hocus Pocus” (PG) at 6 p.m. and “The Blair Witch Project” (R) at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28. Popcorn will be provided.
School Halloween Dance!
There is a Halloween Dance at the Block Island School on Friday, Oct. 28, from 7:30 to 10 p.m. for grades eight to 12. DJ Josh will be performing and there will be refreshments. Costumes and mainland friends welcome. $5/ person. Sponsored by B.I. Wellness Coalition.
Hurricanes Home Soccer Game
There is a Varsity Soccer game on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 12:15 p.m. at Heinz Field against Times Squared Academy.
Library Halloween Party
There is a Halloween Party on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. for grades PreK to Third at the Island Free Library. There will be a costume party with crafts, treats, and a parade.
Animal Rescue Program
Mystic Aquarium is having a free First Responder Animal Rescue Training. Saturday, Oct. 29, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Town Hall. Must be 18 or older to attend.
The annual Yellow Kittens Halloween Party is on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 9 p.m. There is a $10 cover at the door to benefit the B.I. Volunteer Fire Department.

Boy Scout Meeting
There is an open house to organize a new Cub Scouts Program on Block Island! Open to all boys grades K - 5 and their families. Thursday, Nov. 3, at the Harbor Church Rec Room (downstairs) from 4:30 to 5:45p.m. Stop by to learn about the program, receive information, and meet regional representative Grant Van Eck. Boy Scout Troop 30 will be meeting prior to this kickoff in the same space from 3 to 4:15 p.m this is open to all boys 11 to 17 years old!
The Bereavement Group will be meeting on Sunday, Nov. 6, at 3 p.m. at St. Ann's By-The-Sea.

Hunter Safety Course
The Recreation Department is sponsoring a Hunter Safety Course. It is a two day class given by the Department of Environmental Management.
