Santa Hustle 5K and Half Marathon
Grab a group and make plans to participate in the FIRST EVER Santa Hustle 5K and Half Marathon in Newport on Sunday, Nov. 20, at Easton's Beach at 7 a.m. Holiday cheer will abound as participants will don Santa hats and beards (provided with registration). Blackstone Valley Polar Express
Welcome aboard a ninety-minute magical train journey from Woonsocket to the North Pole! Children of all ages will be delighted with the reading of the book The Polar Express, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Clause, a holiday sing-a-long, and a special Holiday remembrance while enjoying hot chocolate and cookies. Christmas at the Castle
The halls of Smith Castle are decked in period fashion for a celebration of Christmas past. Nibble on home-baked treats, sip hot mulled cider, and enjoy live music from an earlier era. Both days will feature local venders selling homemade crafts, a book signing and sale by historian Robert A. Geake, and children's activities that include face painting, Christmas cookie decorating, and a craft table. Admission charged.
