Common Ground Coffeehouse
Friday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m., Common Ground Coffeehouse will show the newly released movie "The Beatles: Eight Days a Week — The Touring Years." This documentary is directed by Oscar winner Ron Howard and based on many clips of Beatles’ performances not previously available. Soup and goodies served at 6:30 p.m. No charge.

Helping Hands Food Pantry
The next Helping Hands Food panrty is Wednesday, Nov. 30. Helping Hands Food Pantry is open every other Wednesday from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the Harbor Church.
Sundays from 2 to 5 p.m. and Tuesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m the Island Free Library will be holding Power Hours for Scholars. Staff will be on hand to supervise and facilitate research, monitor group projects, and answer basic comprehension questions.
Lunch Bunch is every Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at the Community Center.

The Community Tree Lighting will be at the Harbor Church lawn on Tuesday, Nov. 29. Join with your neighbors and listen to the school children sing carols starting at 5:30 p.m. A special guest will be arriving to help us light the tree at 6 p.m.!!

Holiday Open House
Friday Nov. 25, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the 1661 Inn on Spring Street. The Nature Conservancy is hosting an Open House to give thanks to the island community for supporting our program. Please stop by after the Holiday Shopping Stroll for some holiday cheer!
Holiday Shopping Stroll
Many stores will be open for the Holiday Shopping Stroll over the three-day weekend of Friday, Nov. 25, to Sunday, Nov. 27. There are lots of great deals and also some holiday treats. Many stores will also be open every Tuesday night in Dec. for holiday shopping.
The Winter Market is on Saturday, Nov. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Island Free Library. The Winter Market is also open every Tuesday night in December along with the other stores in town.
The annual 5K Turkey Trot will be held on Saturday, Nov. 26. Starting time is at 1 p.m. at the Fred Benson Town Beach. Registration is at Active.com. Remember to register early to secure your race T-shirt. See you at the starting line!

There is a Boys Varsity game on Friday, Dec. 2, at 2:30 p.m. against BCA. There is a Boys Varsity game on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 2:30 p.m. against New Testament. There is a Girls Varsity game on Friday, Dec. 9, at 2:30 p.m. against Burriville. There is a Girls JV game on Friday, Dec. 9, at 3 p.m. against Pennfield. There is a Girls Varsity game on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 12:30 p.m. against Wheeler. All games are played at The Block Island School in the gym.
Library Holiday Party
The Friends and staff of the Island Free Library invite you to the Annual Holiday Open House at the Library on Friday, Dec. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. Come and enjoy the food, drink, and festive holiday music.

BIYC Maritime Scholarship
Applications for the B.I. Yacht Club Maritime Scholarship will be accepted until Feb. 1, 2017.
