Helping Hands Food Pantry
The next Helping Hands Food Pantry is Wednesday, Jan. 11. Helping Hands Food Pantry is open every other Wednesday from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the Harbor Church.
Sundays from 2 to 5 p.m. and Tuesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m the Island Free Library will be holding Power Hours for Scholars. Staff will be on hand to supervise and facilitate research, monitor group projects, and answer basic comprehension questions. Enter through the side door.

Service Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Block Island Ecumenical Ministries invites the whole community to a service honoring Dr Martin Luther King Jr on Sunday, Jan. 8, at 3 p.m. at the Harbor Church. Two African-American pastors from Providence, Rev Jabulani McCalister and Rev Nikita McCalister will be speaking. There will be readings from Dr. King and songs from the movement.

BIYC Maritime Scholarship
Applications for the B.I. Yacht Club Maritime Scholarship will be accepted until Feb. 1, 2017. Students who have graduated from the Block Island School, intend to pursue maritime careers, and are currently enrolled in a college undergraduate maritime program are eligible.
