Common Ground Coffee House
On Friday, March 3, at 7 p.m. the Common Ground Coffeehouse of the Harbor Church will present “Hacksaw Ridge,” a WWII drama that won Oscars this year for Best Film Editing and Best Sound Mixing. Coffee and dessert will be served just before the film. No charge, but donations are welcome.
The Island Free Library is hosting discussions about the latest technology and digital devices every Wednesday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Free advice and free tips. Everyone is welcome!
Helping Hands Food Pantry
The next Helping Hands Food Pantry is Wednesday, March 8. Helping Hands Food Pantry is open every other Wednesday from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the Harbor Church.
Sundays from 2 to 5 p.m. and Tuesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m., the Island Free Library will be holding Power Hours for Scholars. Staff will be on hand to supervise and facilitate research, monitor group projects, and answer basic comprehension questions. Enter through the side door.
Lunch Bunch is held every Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at the Community Center.
The Bereavement Group will be meeting on Sunday, March 5, at St. Ann’s By-The-Sea at 3 p.m.

Global Economy Discussion
Money: Supply, Power, and the Global Economy Discussion with James Garfield on Tuesday, March 7, at 5 p.m. at the Island Free Library. There will also be a showing of the film “Four Horsemen” at 6:30 p.m.
Pizza & Parables

Program On Positive Aging

Corned Beef & Cabbage Dinner
The Block Island Lions Club is hosting its annual St Patrick’s Day Buffet on Saturday, March 11, from 12 to 4 p.m. at Yellow Kittens. Tickets are $18 for adults. Proceeds benefit the meeting street school.

Follow The Voyage Program
The Island Free Library is hosting a Follow The Voyage Program with pizza and films to follow along with the students of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. “In The Heart Of The Sea” will be shown on Tuesday, March 14, at 6 p.m.
The Island Free Library on Wednesday, March 15, will be showing the film “Little Women” at 1 p.m. with a discussion afterward and then showing the film “Into the Wild” at 6 p.m.
There is a Spring Dance on Friday, March 17, from 7 to 9 p.m. Open to grades 5 to 7 at the Block Island School. DJ Josh performing and refreshments served. $5 per person and Wear Green! Sponsored by BI Wellness Coalition.
St. Paddy’s Day Brunch
The Catholic Ladies Guild will be having their annual St. Paddy’s Day Brunch on Sunday, March 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St. Andrew Parish Center.
Taize Prayer Service
The Taize Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, March 22, at 5 p.m. at St. Ann’s By-The-Sea.
2017 July 4th celebration
