Common Ground Coffee House
On Friday, March 10 at 7 p.m. the Common Ground Coffeehouse at the Harbor Church will present the Academy Award-winning movie “Manchester by the Sea.” Coffee and dessert will be available just before the film. No charge, but donations are welcome.
Helping Hands Food Pantry
The next Helping Hands Food Pantry is Wednesday, March 22. Helping Hands Food Pantry is open every other Wednesday from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the Harbor Church.
Sundays from 2 to 5 p.m. and Tuesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m., the Island Free Library will be holding Power Hours for Scholars. Staff will be on hand to supervise and facilitate research, monitor group projects, and answer basic comprehension questions. Enter through the side door.
The Island Free Library is hosting discussions about the latest technology and digital devices every Wednesday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Free advice and free tips. Everyone is welcome!
Lunch Bunch is held every Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at the Community Center.
Corned Beef & Cabbage Dinner
The Block Island Lions Club is hosting its annual St. Patrick’s Day Buffet on Saturday, March 11, from 12 to 4 p.m. at Yellow Kittens. Tickets are $18 for adults. Proceeds benefit the Meeting Street School.
San Francisco Ballet: Romeo & Juliet
The Lincoln Center Free Screenings and the Island Free Library present a screening of the San Francisco Ballet’s “Romeo and Juliet.” Showing on Saturday, March 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Island Free Library.

Follow The Voyage Program
The Island Free Library is hosting a Follow The Voyage Program with pizza and films to follow along with the students of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. “In The Heart Of The Sea” will be shown on Tuesday, March 14, at 6 p.m.
Pizza & Parables
On Wednesday, March 15, from noon to 12:30 p.m. the Harbor Church will host a time to reflect on different Bible stories. Pizza will be served. For more information, call Tony at (508) 272-8822.
The Island Free Library on Wednesday, March 15, will be showing two films: “Little Women” at 1 p.m., with a discussion afterward. The film “Into the Wild” will be shown at 6 p.m.
There is a Spring Dance on Friday, March 17, from 7 to 9 p.m. Open to grades 5 to 7 at the Block Island School. DJ Josh performing and refreshments served. $5 per person and wear green! Sponsored by B.I. Wellness Coalition.
St. Paddy’s Day Brunch
The Catholic Ladies Guild will be having their annual St. Paddy’s Day Brunch on Sunday, March 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St. Andrew Parish Center.
Taize Prayer Service
The Taize Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, March 22, at 5 p.m. at St. Ann’s By-The-Sea.
Casey Farm’s Project Chick returns to the Island Free Library on Friday, March 24, at 1 p.m. An educator from Casey Farm will be bringing a Dominique chicken and eggs to be incubated to the library to talk about bird life cycles and the farm life of a free range chicken in this hands-on program.

2017 July 4th celebration
