Common Ground Coffeehouse
On Friday, June 30, at 7 p.m. the Coffeehouse will show the Disney live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson. All ages welcome, no charge. Cookout at 6:30 p.m. coffee and cookies with movie.

The Block Island Historical Society is having a 75th Anniversary Exhibit Opening “Surrounded by the Sea” on Saturday, July 1, from 5 to 8 p.m.
The Block Island Maritime Institute is having a Fireworks Picnic on Sunday, July 2, at 6:30 p.m. at the Block Island Maritime Center. Tickets are $35 for adults and $20 for kids.
There will be live music at the Fred Benson Beach Pavilion on Sunday, July 2, from 7 to 9 p.m. with the fireworks display following at dusk (around 9 p.m.)
Arts & Grafts Guild Fair
The Arts & Crafts Guild Fair is on Monday, July 3, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the lawn of the Historical Society.
July 4th Activities
The July 4th Parade begins at 11 a.m. at Legion Park and ends on Water St. The annual Fire Dept. Steak Fry is at 12 noon at the Fire Barn. Tickets are $25/per person. There is also a Hot Dog Eating Contest at the Poor People’s Pub at 12 noon.
Blues On The Block
The first Blues On The Block of the season is on Wednesday, July 5, at 6 p.m. at the Town Beach Pavilion. Bring a chair and enjoy some music!
The Block Island Wedding Show is being held on Sunday, July 9, from 12 noon to 3 p.m. at the Sullivan House on Corn Neck Rd.
Medical Center Dinner Dance
There is a Dinner Dance to benefit the Medical Center on Sunday, July 9, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Sullivan House. There will be live jazz. Tickets are $50/per person and are available at Island Bound Bookstore.
Sense of Wonder Night Walk
There will be a Sense of Wonder Night Walk on Sunday, July 9 at 8 p.m. Call 401-595-7055 for location and to sign up for this space limited walk.
The BI Historical Society, Island Free Library, Island Bound Bookstore , and BI Maritime Institute are sponsoring Pirate Days from July 8 to 13. Check All Around the Block for daily activities.
"Tea with a Gardener"
The community is invited by the Block Island Gardeners to "Tea with a Gardener" on Wednesday, July 12, from 3 to 4:30. This year the tea will be held in the garden of Joe and Tricia Wiedemayer where you can view and talk to them about their recent landscaping project. Look for the daffodils on Spring Street. Rain date is July 13.
Early Learning Center Registration

The Harbor Church is offering child care and fun activities during the Sunday morning worship service from 10 to 11 a.m. No charge and no reservation required. Two adults stay with the children, one of them certified in babysitting and first aid.
”Seeking Shelter from the Storm — Daniel Berrigan, William Stringfellow, and Block Island” is an exhibition that will run from July 11 to Oct. 9, at the Island Free Library.
