Common Ground Coffeehouse  
This Friday, July 7, at 7 p.m. the Common Ground Coffeehouse presents singer-songwriter Libby Johnson of New York City. All are welcome at 6:30 p.m. for a free supper, along with international students, or join us at 7 p.m. inside for coffee and cookies. Donations for the musician are encouraged.

Gallery Openings  
There is a reception at Jessie Edwards Gallery on Saturday, July 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. featuring Paintings by Whitney Knapp. There is a reception at Spring Street Gallery  on Saturday, July 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. featuring painting by Ted Merritt and photography by Lisa Sprague. There is a reception at the Spring Street Gallery on Tuesday, July 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. featuring Glasswork by Ebben Horton.

Blues On The Block 
The first Blues On The Block of the season is on Wednesday, July 5, at 6 p.m. at the Town Beach Pavilion. Bring a chair and enjoy some music!

Pirate Days
The BI Historical Society, Island Free Library, Island Bound Bookstore, and BI Maritime Institute are sponsoring Pirate Days from July 8 to 13. Check All Around the Block for daily activities.

Wedding Show 
The Block Island Wedding Show is being held on Sunday, July 9, from 12 noon to 3 p.m. at the Sullivan House on Corn Neck Rd.

Sense of Wonder Night Walk
There will be a  Sense of Wonder Night Walk on Sunday, July 9 at 8 p.m. Call (401) 595-7055 for location and to sign up. Space is limited.

Library Exhibit  
Seeking Shelter from the Storm Daniel Berrigan, William Stringfellow, and Block Island, an exhibition, opens on Tuesday, July 11, at 5:30pm at the Island Free Library.  Frida Berrigan will open the exhibition and everyone is invited. Refreshments will be served. The exhibition runs from July 11 to Oct. 9, at the Island Free Library.

Bingo
There will be Bingo at the BIVFD fire barn on Tuesday, July 11, at 6:30 p.m.

BIMI Lecture Series
On July 11, at 7 p.m. at the BIMI Center there is a lecture on “The Pirate Next Door: The Untold Story of Eighteenth Century Pirates' Wives, Families and Communities” with Author Daphne Geanacopoulos.

"Tea with a Gardener" 
The community is invited by the Block Island Gardeners to "Tea with a Gardener" on Wednesday, July 12, from 3 to 4:30.  This year the tea will be held in the garden of Joe and Tricia Wiedenmayer where you can view and talk to them about their recent landscaping project. Look for the daffodils on Spring Street. Rain date is July 13.

Music Around Town
On Wednesday, July 12, the Ancient Mariners & Swiss Mariners Fife and Drum Corps will be roaming around the island with stops at the Island Free Library and the Historical Society.

Atwater Donnelly Concert
Atwater Donnelly will be at the Island Free Library on Thursday, July 13, at 5:30 p.m. to perform a show called “Songs of the Sea” for Pirate week.

Night Sky Viewing
There will be a Night Sky Viewing on Friday, July 14, at 9 p.m. at the Hodge Preserve on Corn Neck Rd. Bring a blanket or beach chair.

Discussion & Book Signing
In Confessions of a Secular Jesus Follower, Tom Krattenmaker, award winning USA Today columnist, describes his journey to Jesus without need of invoking the supernatural.  Tom will share why he finds Jesus so – but the idea of God less so -- compelling at the Harbor Church on Monday, July 17, at 7 p.m. Q&A and book signing to follow.

Blues On The Block 
Blues On The Block  is on Wednesday, July 19, at 6 p.m. at the Town Beach Pavilion. Bring a chair and enjoy some music!

Early Learning Center Registration

Sunday School  
The Harbor Church is offering child care and fun activities during the Sunday morning worship service from 10 to 11 a.m. No charge and no reservation required. Two adults stay with the children, one of them certified in babysitting and first aid

Free RISD Classes
