Triathlon
The Block Island Triathlon is popular with both seasoned racers and beginners. The race starts with a 1/4 mile open water swim off of beautiful crescent beach. After the swim racers hop on their bikes for a 12 mile ride around the island with stunning views of the Atlantic, old stone walls, pastures and rolling hills. The final leg of the race is back at the beach for a 4 mile run in the sand. Saturday, Aug. 5, at 9 a.m. at Town Beach. Register at active.com.

Mary D. Ball
The annual Mary D. Ball is being held on Saturday, Aug. 5 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Sullivan House on Corn Neck Rd. Music provided By DJ Jon O'Neill and Walter McDonough. Proceeds to benefit the Mary D. Fund. Tickets are $40 Supporter, $75 Sponsor, or $150 Club Mary. Tickets available at the door or send a check made out to The Mary D. ConserFest
ConserFest is on Saturday, Aug. 5, from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Narragansett Inn. On Sunday, Aug. 6, from 12 to 3 p.m. at the Town Beach, and from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Yellow Kittens.

Fun Run
The Medical Center Fun Run is on Sunday, Aug. 6, at  at town Beach. A 3.2 mile/5k run on the most beautiful beach on Block Island. Check in is located at the Fred Benson Beach Pavilion at 8:30 a.m. Register on active.com.

Arts & Crafts Guild Fair
The Block Island Arts and Crafts Guild Fair is on Sunday, Aug. 6, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Historical Society Lawn.

Block Island Gardeners Annual Luncheon

The Block Island Arts and Artisans Festival is at the Harbor Church on Saturday, Aug. 12, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, from 12 noon to 4 p.m. and Monday, Aug. 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Vendors include glass, jewelry, paintings, photography, and much more.

CROP Walk

Seeking Shelter
”Seeking Shelter from the Storm,” Daniel Berrigan, William Stringfellow and Block Island, the exhibition is open for viewing during Island Free Library hours. Weekly programming for this exhibition is scheduled for every Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Island Free Library. Exhibition runs until Oct. 9.

Sunday School
This season the Harbor Church is offering child care and fun activities during the Sunday morning worship service from 10 to 11 a.m. No charge and no reservation required. Two adults stay with the children, one of them certified in babysitting and first aid.
