Common Ground Coffeehouse
Common Ground Coffeehouse on Friday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m. will present a classical concert called Resistance Music. Linda Wiles will play piano pieces by Chopin, Debussy, and Ravel, and her daughter will sing two pieces. Supper served at 6:30 p.m. Donations will support relief in Puerto Rico.

Study Hall
Tuesdays from 5 to 7 p.m., the Island Free Library will be holding Power Hours for Scholars. Staff will be on hand to supervise and facilitate research, monitor group projects, and answer basic comprehension questions. Free pizza!

Fun Fridays
Fun activities after school every Friday at the Island Free Library at 1 p.m. A different activity every week like Legos, Arts & Crafts, Board Games, and STEM projects.

Soup Group
Soup Group is every Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at the Community Center. Need a ride? Call Gloria Redlich at (401) 486-9278.

Ecumenical Choir Practice
The Ecumenical Choir will be having practice for the Thanksgiving Concert every Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Harbor Church.

Hurricanes Home Soccer Games
There are varsity games on the following dates: Friday, Oct. 20, at 2:15 p.m. against Oxford; Saturday, Oct. 21, at 12:15 p.m. against Grove. All games are played at Heinz Field.

Grief Group
There is a free Grief support group every other Tuesday afternoon. The next session will be held on Oct. 24, at 4 p.m. at the Community Center meeting room.

Roll Call Dinner
Why wait until Thanksgiving! Roll Call Dinner will be on Tuesday, Oct. 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Harbor Church.

Kids Halloween Party
Kids  Halloween Party! Saturday, Oct. 28, at 1 p.m. at the Island Free Library. Lots of fun and games. Come dressed to show off your costume in our Dodge St. parade!

Book Presentation
On Saturday, Oct. 28, at 4:30 p.m. at the Library, Sy Montgomery, author of 'Soul of an Octopus: A Surprising Exploration into the Wonder of Consciousness' (2015 National Book Award for Nonfiction), will join Howard Mansfield, author of 'Summer Over Autumn: A Small Book of Small-Town Life', to speak about their books. This event is co-sponsored by the Island Bound Bookstore. Refreshments will be served.

Reflection Garden Dedication Ceremony
There is a Dedication Ceremony for the Reflection Garden at the Harbor Baptist Church lawn on Sunday , Oct. 29, at 11:30 a.m. Join us in celebrating this beautiful new space.

Trunk or Treat Fall Festival
There is a Trunk or Treat Fall Festival at the Block Island School on Sunday, Oct. 29, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. (raindate Monday, Oct. 30). Trunk or Treating, games & pumpkins, kid activities for all ages. $25 entry fee per vehicle. Fundraiser for the Close Up Jr./Sr. class trip to Washington D.C.

Caregiver Group
There is a free Caregiver support group every other Tuesday afternoon. The next session will be held on Oct. 31, at 4 p.m. at the Community Center meeting room.

Helping Hands Food Pantry
Every other Wednesday at the Harbor Church. The next Helping Hands Pantry will be Wednesday, Nov. 1, from 1 to 5 p.m.

Bereavement Group
The bereavement Group will be meeting on Sunday, Nov. 5, at 3 p.m. at St. Ann’s By-The-Sea.

Lunch Bunch
Lunch Bunch will be starting on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 12:30 p.m. at the Community Center.

Outstanding Owls
Saw-Whet Owl Banding will be on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. Meet at the parking area for the second bluffs on Mohegan Trail. Sponsored by the James Stover Exploration Series.
