Study Hall
Tuesdays from 5 to 7 p.m., the Island Free Library will be holding Power Hours for Scholars. Staff will be on hand to supervise and facilitate research, monitor group projects, and answer basic comprehension questions. Free pizza!

Fun Fridays
Fun activities after school every Friday at the Island Free Library at 1 p.m. A different activity every week like Legos, Arts and Crafts, Board Games, and STEM projects.

Ecumenical Choir Practice
The Ecumenical Choir will be having practice for the Thanksgiving Concert every Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Harbor Church.

Common Ground Coffeehouse
There will be no Common Ground Coffeehouse on Friday, Nov. 3. Join us instead for the live performance of “Frankenstein” at the Island Free Library.

‘Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus’
A solo performance of Mary Shelly’s classic gothic horror! Written and performed by Greg Oliver Bodine and directed by DeLisa M. White. Friday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Island Free Library.

Family Support Group
NAMI Block Island invites anyone living with a person who is living with mental illness to participate in the monthly gathering of a support group of people in similar situations. Meet Saturday, Nov 4, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Island Free Library. Led by trained locals dealing with these issues in their own families.

“Minute to Win it”
Do you have what it takes to beat the clock? Saturday, Nov. 4, at 5 p.m. the 6 through 12 graders are invited to the Island Free Library for a “Minute to Win it” party! Lots of games and sure to be lots of laughs as well! Refreshments will be served. Hope to see you there!

Bereavement Group
The Bereavement Group will be meeting on Sunday, Nov. 5, at 3 p.m. at St. Ann’s By-The-Sea.

Screens, The Teen Brain, & Behavior
The Wellness Coalition is sponsoring a parenting program by psychologist and author Matt Bellace on “What are screens doing to the teen brain?” Tuesday, Nov. 7, from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. at the B.I. School.

Grief Group
There is a free Grief Support Group every other Tuesday afternoon. The next session will be held on Nov. 7, at 4 p.m. at the Community Center meeting room.

“Bag It”
Join The Nature Conservancy  and the Island Free Library for this informative and entertaining film about bagging the use of plastics – including plastic bags. Popcorn will be served, and conversation will be encouraged.Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 6:30 p.m., at Island Free Library.

Outstanding Owls

The second semi-annual Bo Gempp Memorial Shellfish Restoration Fundraiser will be held on Sunday, Nov. 12, at 2 p.m. at Club Soda.

Helping Hands Food Pantry
Every other Wednesday at the Harbor Church. The next Helping Hands Pantry will be Wednesday, Nov. 15, from 1 to 5 p.m.

There is an Ecumenical Choir Concert of Thanksgiving and Remembrance on Sunday, Nov. 19, at 3 p.m. at the Harbor Church.

Shopping Stroll
The annual Thanksgiving Shopping stroll is on Friday, Nov. 24 to Sunday, Nov. 26, at various location around town. Check with the Block Island Chamber of Commerce for participating Stores and Restaurants.

Turkey Trot
Run or walk off your Thanksgiving Feast with the annual 5K Turkey Trot on Saturday, Nov. 25. The race kicks off at 1 p.m. at the Fred Benson State Beach.
