On The Block
Fun activities after school every Friday at the Island Free Library at 1 p.m. A different activity every week like Legos, arts and crafts, board games, and STEM projects.
Tuesdays from 5 to 7 p.m., the Island Free Library will be holding “Power Hours for Scholars.” Staff will be on hand to supervise and facilitate research, monitor group projects, and answer basic comprehension questions. Free pizza!
The final Lunch Bunch of 2017 will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 19, at the Community Center at noon. Lunch Bunch will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 9. See you then!
Free Artist Studio Space

Gay-Straight Alliance Social Hour
The Island Free Library will be hosting a weekly Gay-Straight Alliance Social Hour at 5 p.m. every Friday, all ages are welcome.
Letters to Santa
Santa Claus will have a special mailbox in the lobby of the Post Office until Wednesday, Dec. 18, for kids who wish to send a letter to the North Pole. Please make sure you include your return address so Santa can write you back before Christmas!
Tuesday Night Winter Markets & Stroll
McAloon’s and the Island Free Library will be hosting Tuesday Night Winter Markets in December from 5 to 8 p.m. Various vendors from the Farmers Market will be selling their goods. (McAloon’s will be closed for dinner). Also, many shops in town will be open for the Tuesday Night Shopping Strolls. Come do some last minute holiday shopping!

Common Ground Coffeehouse
Common Ground Coffeehouse on Friday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m. is a Christmas Singalong led by the Block Island Ukuladies and featuring the young band of local students “The View from Here.” Complimentary supper served at 6:30 p.m.

The Nature Conservancy is having a 200th Anniversary Walk at Lewis Farm on Saturday, Dec. 30, at 1 p.m. Follow the signs off Cooneymus Road. Sponsored by the James Stover Exploration Series.
BIYC Maritime Scholarship
Applications for the B.I. Yacht Club Maritime Scholarship will be accepted until Feb. 1, 2018. Students who have graduated from the Block Island School, intend to pursue maritime careers, and are currently enrolled in a college undergraduate maritime program are eligible.
