Common Ground Coffeehouse is partnering with NAMI Block Island to host the kick-off of their Spring Conference on Friday, May 18. At 7 p.m. we're showing a one-hour movie of a one-man theatrical show, an interactive monologue by a character whose mother suffered from depression. It's called "Every Brilliant Thing," after a list he came up with as a child of things worth staying alive for. Counselor Ed McGuirl will lead a discussion of the movie and then close with a few songs, which may be Celtic, folk singalongs, or blues.
