Common Ground Coffeehouse
Friday, June 29 at 7 p.m, features Kala Farnham, a young singer-songwriter from Connecticut, who plays piano, guitar, and harp. She won the 2017 Rhode Island Songwriters Contest and was one of 12 writers from around the world invited to the Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project at Northwestern University. All are welcome at 6:30 p.m. for a free supper (along with a good number of international students) or join us at 7 p.m.for coffee and cookies. No charge, but donations for the musicians are appreciated.
Every Tuesday, Soup Group will meet at the Community Center at 12:30 p.m. If you need a ride or have a question, call Gail Pierce at 466-5470 or Debbie Martin at 466-5224. (Soup Group will not meet on Tuesday, July 3, due to the Independence Day celebrations.)
Farmers Markets will be on Wednesdays, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at The Spring House and Saturdays, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Legion Park for the rest of the summer.

Every Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Andrew Parish Center, Spring Street, lower level and barn. Good clean used clothing, shoes, and hats at great prices! Accepting donations throughout the summer at the drop-off box at the Parish Center. Please no household items.

Horseshoe Crab Survey And Tagging Programs
To learn about the ecology of horseshoe crabs and Project Limulus, a citizen science program based at Sacred Heart University, join a horseshoe crab survey and tagging workshop. No experience is necessary, just be prepared to get your feet wet. Meet at Andy’s Way. Workshops are: Saturday, June 30 at 10 a.m.
Dodge Street Nightmarket
Join Dodge Street businesses Thursday evenings for shopping and entertainment offerings geared toward all ages and families. Games, stories, and workshops, from 6 to 8 p.m.
American Legion Merrill Slate Post 36 will have its monthly meeting on Friday, June 29 at 5:30 p.m. at Legion Hall on West Side Road. All visiting military and vets are invited to join us.

Saturday, June 30 at 9 p.m., at Hodge Preserve, Corn Neck Road. Rescheduled to July 1 if sky is overcast.
Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks
The Double Ender Committee is proud to present this year’s fireworks display and Fourth of July parade. The Fireworks will be held at dusk on Monday, July 2. The parade will be held on Wednesday, July 4 and will step off at 11 a.m. at Legion Park. This year’s theme is “Your Favorite Movie.” Anyone interested in participating in the parade with a float should meet in front of The Oar at 9:30 a.m. the day of the parade. The Senior Advisory Committee invites members of the island community (ages 35 and over) to participate in two surveys — one related to aging; the second for caregivers. Lions Club Golf Tournament
The Block Island Lions Club will be having its annual July Golf Tournament on Monday, July 9 with a 10:30 a.m. tee time at Richmond Country Club. Golfers leave on the 8 a.m. boat. $100 includes 18 holes of golf, cart, lunch, traditional ferry boat ticket and breakfast ticket.
