Friday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m., the movie “The Blind Side” with Sandra Bullock. Based on the true story of the underprivileged football player adopted by a family of means to help him realize his life's dream. Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Dinner: Baked chicken, hearty soup and salad.
Lobster Pot Christmas Tree Bake Sale
Sunday, Nov.18 at 12 p.m. stop by Esta’s Park, the kids will be selling coffee, hot chocolate and baked goods. Proceeds go to the Block Island School Friends and Esta’s Park. Tree lighting will be at dusk on Thanksgiving.
Ecumenical Choir Concert
The Ecumenical Choir Concert of Thanksgiving and Remembrance is on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 3 p.m. at the St. Andrew Parish Center, with a collation to follow.
B.I.E.D. Annual Meeting
Monday, Nov. 19 at 5:30 p.m. Block Island Economic Development with be holding its annual meeting at the Community Center. The public is invited.
Lunch Bunch will be cancelled Tuesday, Nov. 20 because of the Thanksgiving holiday and resume on Tuesday, Nov. 27. Lunch Bunch will also be cancelled on Tuesday, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 for those holidays. It will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 8.
Block Island School Friends Pie Sale
The Block Island School Friends are having a pie sale on Tuesday, Nov. 20, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday, Nov. 21, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Island Free Library. They will also have Hurricanes clothing for sale.
Helping Hands Food Pantry
Helping Hands Food Pantry will be Wednesday, Nov. 21 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Harbor Church.

18th Annual Thanksgiving Beach Walk
To honor the Late Capt. John R. “Rob” Lewis. Friday, Nov. 23 at 9 a.m. at the Fred Benson Pavilion. Join us to celebrate this great man who inspired so many people to donate land and resources to support conservation on this beautiful island. Weather permitting.
Further Afield Fundraiser, Lunch Café
Friday, Nov. 23 from 12 to 3 p.m. at the Yellow Kittens. The 10th grade will be serving up soup, corn bread and more. Come support the annual environmental service and learning trip.
The Nature Conservancy Holiday Open House
The Nature Conservancy is hosting an Open House to give thanks to the island community for supporting the program. Please stop by after the stroll for some holiday cheer! Friday, Nov. 23 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the 1661 Inn on Spring Street.
Saturday, Nov. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library will be hosting its annual Indoor Market. Vendors include craftspeople, artists and bakers.
Annual Block Island Turkey Trot
The annual 5K Turkey Trot is on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018. The race starts at 12 p.m. at the Fred Benson Town Beach. Download a form at blockislandchamber.com and return the completed form to the Chamber, or register at active.com. Remember to register early to secure your race tee shirt.
Holiday Greens and Plant Sale
Block Island School Friends will be selling holiday greens and plants, along with Hurricanes clothing, at the the Block Island School. Starting Tuesday, Nov. 27 through Thursday Nov. 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Friends and staff of the Island Free Library invite you to the Annual Holiday Open House at the Library on Friday, Nov. 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. Come and enjoy the food, drink, and festive holiday music.
