Common Ground Event
Friday, Jan. 4 at 6:30 pm at the Harbor Church. The film is “I Can Only Imagine” about an aspiring musician who overcomes a troubled childhood and broken relationships to produce one of the first contemporary Christian songs to hit the mainstream charts. Starring J. Michael Finley, Dennis Quaid, and Trace Adkins. Supper at 6:30 p.m. Dessert and coffee to accompany the program at 7 p.m.
NAMI BI Family Support Group
Saturday, Jan. 5 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Island Free Library Room C. Anyone with a close friend or family member who is affected by living with mental illness is welcome. There is no commitment required, just see if the support helps.

Dim Sum Dinner — To Go!
The Block Island 10th grade students are having a “Dim Sum Dinner To Go” fundraiser for their Further Afield trip on Monday, Jan. 14. Dim sum is $20 per person and can be picked up between 4:30 and 6 p.m. at the 1661 Inn. Quantities are limited. All dinners must be pre-ordered by Monday, Jan. 7. Helping Hands Food Pantry
The next Helping Hands Food Pantry will be Wednesday, Jan. 16 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Harbor Church.
BIYC Maritime Scholarship
Applications for the B.I. Yacht Club Maritime Scholarship will be accepted until Feb. 1, 2019. Graduates of the Block Island School who intend to pursue maritime careers, and are currently enrolled in a college undergraduate maritime program, are eligible.
