- Friday, Jan. 25 at 10:30 a.m. A new program called “Healthy Kids Inside and Out” includes adventures, snacks and yoga.
• Saturday, Jan. 26 at 10 a.m. Book Around The Block. Discussion about Louisa May Alcott’s “Little Women.” Then stay for two movie versions of the book.
- Saturday, Jan 26 at 7 p.m. The movie is “Kissed by God,” a documentary about surfer Andy Irons that addresses his struggles with mental illness and addiction.
• Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 6 p.m. Film and Soup. The movie is “Wasted.” The story of food waste. Bring a spoon and cup/bowl for soup. All are welcome!

Bingo Fundraiser
Sunday, Jan. 27 from 2 to 4 p.m at the Block Island School cafeteria. A fundraiser for the eighth grade trip to New York City.
Magic show! Raffle! Live Auction!
Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 6 p.m. at the Yellow Kittens. A fundraiser for Mason Miro, who is going in for major surgery next month.
Helping Hands Food Pantry
The next Helping Hands Food Pantry will be Wednesday, Jan. 30 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Harbor Church.
NAMI BI family support group
Saturday, Feb. 2. NAMI BI family support group will meet in the Island Free Library, Room C, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Anyone with a close friend or family member who is affected by living with mental illness is welcome. There is no commitment required, just see if the support helps.
BIYC Maritime Scholarship
Applications for the B.I. Yacht Club Maritime Scholarship will be accepted until Feb. 1, 2019. Graduates of the Block Island School who intend to pursue maritime careers, and are currently enrolled in a college undergraduate maritime program, are eligible. Block Island Arts and Crafts Guild Scholarship
Beginning Friday, Feb. 1, the Block Island Arts and Crafts Guild will be accepting applications for the annual art scholarship awards. Graduating high school seniors may be eligible. The applications with portfolio should be submitted by May 3, 2019 to either Teri McCombe (401) 742-5501 or art teacher Lisa Robb (401) 466-5600. Scholarship criteria and applications are available in the Block Island School guidance office.
Burrito Dinner To Go Fundraiser
All burritos must be pre-ordered by Sunday, Feb. 3. Call Charlotte at 466-2129 or email at mailto:cherring@tnc.org to select your Burrito. Fundraiser for the 10th grade Further Afield trip. Pick-up is between 5:30-6:30pm at the 1661 Inn on Monday, Feb.11. $20 per person.
