Feb. 22 — Concert: Live music by Bill Benson, singer/songwriter and TV host from Connecticut, playing guitar and singing original music.

Sweets For The Sweet

Block Island 10th grade students are having a Valentine's Day Sweets Fundraiser for their Further Afield Trip. Gift Boxes are $20 each and packed full with a yummy assortment of home-made cookies. All gift boxes must be pre-ordered by Monday, Feb. 11. Call Charlotte at 466-2129 or email at cherring@tnc.org to order your sweets. Pick-up is between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. at the 1661 Inn on Thursday, Feb. 14.

New Bible Study Group

The study group will be held for five Saturdays through March 2, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the church parlor. In this video-based, small group Bible study, participants will explore what kind of news is good to a culture that thinks it has rejected the Christian version. Please let Pastor Peter Preiser know if you are interested in attending so that he can have enough study guides available. You don’t have to attend every session to participate. Music By The Fire

Come join us by the fireplace on Saturday, Feb. 16 for an evening performance of the “Iliad” at the Island Free Library with Rhode Island actor Matthew Fraza. Soup will be served at 6:30 p.m., and the performance is at 7 p.m.

Ecumenical Choir Practice

Ecumenical Choir practice for the Easter Concert will be held every Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Harbor Church between now and Easter, which is Sunday, April 21.

Block Island Arts and Crafts Guild Scholarship

Beginning Friday, Feb. 1, the Block Island Arts and Crafts Guild will be accepting applications for the annual art scholarship awards. Graduating high school seniors may be eligible. The applications with portfolio should be submitted by May 3, 2019 to either Teri McCombe (401-742-5501) or art teacher Lisa Robb (401-466-5600). Scholarship criteria and applications are available in the Block Island School guidance office.
