Casey Farm ‘Project Chick’
Friday, March 22 at 11 a.m. A Casey Farm educator will present an informational workshop at the Island Free Library. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions. Directly after the program, the eggs will begin their 21 days of incubation. All are welcome!
Common Ground Events On Friday Nights
- March 22: “The Favourite.” Lady Sarah governs 18th century England for a frail Queen Anne. Olivia Colman won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role as Queen Anne.
- March 29: Game night.
The events start at 6:30 p.m. with dinner, all at the Harbor Church.

Ecumenical Choir Practice
Ecumenical Choir practice for the Easter Concert will be held every Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Harbor Church between now and Easter, which is Sunday, April 21.
Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m. at the Community Center.
Block Island Arts and Crafts Guild Scholarship
The Block Island Arts and Crafts Guild is accepting applications for the annual art scholarship awards. Graduating high school seniors are eligible. The applications with portfolio should be submitted by May 3, 2019 to either Teri McCombe (401-742-5501) or art teacher Lisa Robb (401-466-5600). Scholarship criteria and applications are available in the Block Island School guidance office.
Peanut Butter Drive
Washington Trust is holding its annual Peanut Butter Drive throughout the month of March. Residents are asked to bring in non-perishable food items that will be donated to the Helping Hands Food Pantry.
Saturday, March 23 at 1 p.m. Meet on Corn Neck Road across from the Labyrinth.
Film And Soup
Tuesday, March 26 at 6 p.m. at the Island Free Library. The movie is “One Big Home.” Bring a spoon and cup/bowl for soup. All are welcome. See page 5.
Helping Hands Food Pantry
The next Helping Hands Food Pantry will be held on Wednesday, March 27 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Harbor Church.
BIS Chili Fest Cook-off
Got a great chili recipe? On Thursday, April 4, submit a crock-pot’s worth of chili to the Block Island School Ceramics Department’s Chili Fest and you could win! Don’t have a recipe but love chili? Come and sample the goods. Buy a handmade bowl and fill it with chili (corn bread and soft drink included) and vote for your favorite. Serving from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Drop off your chili at 5 p.m. Questions or want to enter? Call Lisa at 466-2629. Get it while it’s hot!
