The TNC and BIC co-sponsor free, guided nature programs throughout the year. Together, they offer many different ways to connect to the fields, marshes, and beaches that make the island so exceptional. Check out the advertisement on page. Open every Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Andrew Parish Center, Spring Street, lower level and barn. Good clean used clothing, shoes, and hats at great prices! Accepting donations throughout the summer at the drop-off box at the Parish Center. Please no household items.

5k Family Fun Run/Walk
The National Alliance on Mental Illness-BI and the Block Island Medical Center are sponsoring a beach run or walk on Sunday, Aug. 4 at the Beach Pavilion. Register in advance at RunSignup.com or the day of the race. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., race starts at 10:30 a.m. Pets welcome.

Gardening for the Future - Going Green
Nationally recognized garden club presenter Paul Split will speak on “Gardening for the Future - Going Green” at the Library on Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 3 p.m. Wine, cheese and other refreshments will be served. This event is co-sponsored by the Block Island Gardeners and the Friends of the Island Free Library.
