Movie and a Meal at Harbor Church
A light supper will be served every Friday night at 6:30 p.m. Dessert and coffee accompany the film at 7 p.m. Tell your friends about this great off-season social time.

Senior Ride Service Up and Running
The Senior Advisory Committee has re-started the Senior Ride Service for island seniors, persons with special needs, and caregivers without transportation. The cost is $3 per round trip. Island Free Library Events
- Friday, Nov. 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. there will be Library Underground. Grades six through 12 welcome. Come and enjoy movies, snacks, music and more.
- Drop-In Holiday Crafts. Saturday, Nov. 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. All are welcome and all materials provided.
- Indigenous Cultural Exploration with Tomaquag Museum, Wednesday, Nov. 27 Kids’ program at 10:30 a.m. Family program for all at 1 p.m.
Lobster Pot Christmas Tree Bake Sale
Saturday, Nov. 23 and Sunday, Nov. 24 at 12 p.m. Stop by Esta’s Park, the kids will be selling coffee, hot chocolate and baked goods. Proceeds go to the Roots and Wings Program and Esta’s Park. Tree lighting will be at dusk on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28.
Ecumenical Choir Concert
A service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance will be on Sunday, Nov. 24, at 3 p.m. at the Harbor Church, with a collation to follow.
On Tuesday, Nov. 26, Sun Farm Oysters will be having its annual Thanksgiving oyster benefit for Block Island-based non-profits starting at 3 p.m. at the Old Island Pub. A dozen oysters can be purchased for a donation of $5. Please bring a bag to put your oysters in. We ask that participating non-profits bring a donation container (with your name on it) to the parking lot at 2:45 p.m. and retrieve it at 5:30 p.m. Please email with any questions to email@example.com.
Block Island School Friends Pie Sale
The Block Island School Friends are having a pie sale on Tuesday, Nov. 26, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday, Nov. 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Island Free Library. There will also be Hurricanes clothing for sale.
19th Annual Thanksgiving Beach Walk
To honor the late Capt. John R. “Rob” Lewis. Friday, Nov. 29 at 9 a.m. Meet at the Town Beach Pavilion
The annual Holiday Shopping Stroll is Friday, Nov. 29 to Sunday, Dec. 1, at various locations around town.
Saturday, Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library will be hosting its annual Indoor Market. Vendors include craftspeople, artists, and bakers.
Further Afield Fundraiser
There will be a Lunch Café during the Stroll on Friday, Nov. 29 and Saturday, Nov. 30, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Yellow Kittens. The Block Island School 10th Grade class will be serving up soup, grilled cheese, and more.
Holiday Open House
The Nature Conservancy is hosting an Open House on Friday, Nov. 29 from 4 to 6 p.m. at The 1661 Inn on Spring Street to give thanks to the island community for supporting the program.
James Stover Exploration Series: Night Walk
Friday, Nov. 29 at 8 p.m. Meet at Second Bluffs on Mohegan Trail. Bring a flashlight and please dress warmly.
Block Island Turkey Trot In Memory of Michael Coords
Get ready to run or walk off your Thanksgiving feast with the annual 5K Turkey Trot on Saturday, Nov. 30. The race kicks off at noon at The Fred Benson Town Beach. Register early to reserve your race tee shirt at active.com.
