B.I. Yacht Club Scholarship
The Block Island Yacht Club is now offering scholarship applications for the 2021
BIYC Maritime Scholarship program. Students who have already graduated from the
Block Island School, intend to pursue a maritime career, and are currently enrolled in
a college undergraduate maritime program at an accredited institution may receive
up to $1,000 annually to advance their education. Request for application forms or

Applications must be submitted to Block Island Yacht Club, P.O. Box 502, Block
Island, R.I. 02807 by Feb. 1.

Ms. Morgan’s Storytime: Wednesdays at 4 p.m. live on Facebook and Thursdays

Music Time with Ms. Carrie: Tuesdays at 11 a.m. Watch live on the Island Free

Book Group: With the Senior Advisory Committee. “Antelope Woman” by Louise
Erdrich on Wednesdays at 2 p.m. Request a Zoom invite from Gloria Redlich at

Found Poetics: A joint program with the Senior Advisory Committee. Interested
participants can contact Gloria Redlich or the library.
New Program: In Our Kitchens. Wednesdays at 4 p.m. Ask Gloria or the Library
for the Zoom link.
Frankenstein Tea: A short story program for adult listeners on the Island Free
Library YouTube channel daily at 3 p.m.
Take and Make Craft Kits: In the Kids’ Room at the Library. Take home craft kits
available for pick-up when the Library is open.
Library Hours: Currently closed to in-person browsing.

Helping Hands Food Pantry
The next Helping Hands Food Pantry will be open for distribution of food on
Wednesday, Dec. 16 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Harbor Church. Please wear your mask
and bring your reusable shopping bags. The last date of the year is Wednesday, Dec.

Two Guys On Block Island Podcast
A new podcast hosted by Rich Tretheway and Marc Scortino who will, each week,
feature guests and chat about Block Island. New episodes will drop on Wednesdays
wherever podcasts can be heard.

Block Island Fall 2020 Series
Kim Gaffett, The Nature Conservancy’s OVF Naturalist, will be hosting the fall
season of “Zoom on Nature.” Each month Kim will take us on a tour of one of the
island’s many natural areas, chosen with the beauty of the season in mind. In addition to getting a glimpse of the island’s beauty, participants may get hints on where
to look for orbs.
