Harbor Church Events
Service of Remembrance
Monday night, Dec. 21 at 5 p.m. A service of comfort and encouragement for
those who have lost loved ones recently. This will be an in-person event and also
streamed on the Harbor Church BI Facebook page.
A Fireside Christmas Eve
Stay safely close to home and hearth on Christmas Eve, warm and cozy, and still
enjoy a multimedia holiday celebration and a seasonal reflectional with Harbor
Church. There will be music by Carrie Johnson, dance by Susan Matheke, and holiday message by Pastor Peter. This virtual event will be posted online to Facebook
and YouTube on Thursday, Dec. 24

B.I. Yacht Club Scholarship
The Block Island Yacht Club is now offering scholarship applications for the 2021
BIYC Maritime Scholarship program. Students who have already graduated from
the Block Island School, intend to pursue a maritime career, and are currently
enrolled in a college undergraduate maritime program at an accredited institution
may receive up to $1,000 annually to advance their education. Request for application forms or for any questions, contact Jim Fiorato at biyc02807@gmail.com

P.O. Box 502, Block Island, R.I. 02807 by Feb. 1.

The Island Free Library invites all to stay local and enjoy the pause on-island.
Library Hours: The Library is now open for in-person browsing. Tuesdays 11
a.m. - 7 p.m.; Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Saturdays 10
a.m. - 3 p.m.

Music Time. With Ms. Carrie at 11 a.m. on Facebook.

Book Group. With the Senior Advisory Committee on “Antelope Woman” by
Louise Erdrich on Zoom at 2 p.m.
In Our Kitchens A Zoom discussions with the SAC at 4 p.m.
Storytime. With Miss Morgan on Facebook at 4 p.m.

Storytime. With Ms. Morgan on Zoom at 10:30 a.m.
Found Poetics. On Zoom with the SAC at 2 p.m.
Everyday
Frankenstein Tea. A short story program for adult listeners on YouTube at 3 p.m.
Take & Make Craft Kits. Available for pick-up. Something for everyone, from
preschool to adult!
And the return of The Kids’ Store. Outdoor and by appointment on Dec. 18 and 19.

Block Island School Student Council Holiday Lights Contest
The Student Council is holding its first-ever island-wide holiday house decorating
contest. To sign up, write to blockislandstudentcouncil@gmail.com. Contest runs
through Jan. 1. Prizes to the first, second and third place winners.
