The Island Free Library invites everyone to participate in the programs listed below.

Library Hours: The Library is now open for in-person browsing. Tuesdays 11 a.m. -
7 p.m.; Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Saturdays 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Take & Make Craft Kits for preschoolers. Available for pick up Tuesdays only.
Music Time with Ms. Carrie at 10:30 a.m. for ages six months to five years old. Please pre-register for this event.
Tuesday Night Holiday Shopping Stroll at 4:30 p.m. Local artisans and crafters will be selling gifts for the whole family. Stop in and see what’s available.
Stitch Together: Bring your projects (knitting, crochet, weaving and embroidery) and join us at 5:30 p.m. for crafting and conversations. All ages and skills welcome -bring your problems and questions.
ESL Classes: English as a second language available at 6 p.m. Want to understand English a little better? Bring your friends and join our group at the Island Free Library.
Lapsit Storytime for ages birth to two with Ms. Morgan at 10:30 a.m. Come read, sing, dance and play! Masks are required for adults, and safety protocols will be followed.

Healthy Kids with Kim Gaffett, the OVF Naturalist with The Nature Conservancy will begin at 10:30 a.m. All kids welcome.
Kids’ Holiday Store at the Library. Friday, Dec. 17 from 12:30 to 5 p.m. and Saturday Dec. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sign up your children to shop for their families, teachers, and loved ones.
2021 Mah Jongg: Come join us in Room A to play 2021 Mah Jongg. 10 a.m. Do not know how to play? No problem - we will show you.
Frankenstein Tea returns! 3 p.m. on the Island Free Library You-Tube channel. Tune in to hear a one-act play read by Lars Trodson and Kristin Baumann.
Happy Holidays - The Library is closed Dec. 24 and 25.

Drop off your letters to Santa
Santa’s letter box will be at the Block Island Post Office through December, 18. Make sure to include a return address so Santa can write you back!
Caretakers Support Group
The Caregivers Support Group will be meeting in person at the Community Center on Thursday, Dec. 30, at 4 p.m. Meetings are free of charge and will be held every other week. Contact Kerri Gaffett at email@example.com for questions.
Monthly Senior Health Checks
Free monthly health checks for seniors will take place on Monday, Dec. 20 at the Block Island Community Center. Make an appointment by calling Sarah at (203) 558-8307 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Senior Ride Service
Open to island seniors (60 and over) and persons with special needs as well as caretakers without transportation. Register by calling Gloria Redlich, Senior Coordinator at (401) 486-9279 or email email@example.com. To call for a ride contact Sue at (401) 742-0436 or Vin at (401) 741-1410.
Helping Hands Food Pantry
Helping Hands food pantry will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 29, at 12 to 2:30 p.m. at the Harbor Church. Masks required and please bring reusable bags. Heavy rain day will be Thursday. The next Helping Hands food pantry will be on Jan. 12.

Movie and a Meal
Movie and a Meal at Harbor Church. December 17: “The Christmas Edition.” A big-city journalist takes a job as the editor of a small town newspaper in Alaska and finds that the warmth of the community is enlarged by its small size. Dinner at 6:30 p.m., film at 7.
