Mon, 08/26/2019 - 11:45am

The following was issued by the Town of New Shoreham:

As part of the network pre-engineering for an Island-wide broadband project, The Town of New Shoreham is undertaking a field survey of aerial and underground electric and telecommunications utilities on Block Island.
Five technicians from Mountain, LTD will be on the Island beginning Monday, August 26 through Friday, August 30, 2019.

All technicians will have photo identification cards and a letter issued by the Town of New Shoreham stating their name.

It is the Town’s sincere desire to cause as little inconvenience as possible during this field survey; visits will be brief and do not require anyone to be present. The technicians will not enter your home or disturb your premise.

The field technicians will be examining and measuring utility poles, meter pedestals and the ‘drop’ from a pedestal to the primary structure on a property. In order to facilitate a well- designed and accurately priced network, it is important to have accurate and consistent data for all properties. Please aid us in our efforts by allowing brief access to conduct this survey.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Town Manager’s office at (401) 466- 3213 or email Thank you for your cooperation.
