Fall Festival Fundraiser
Calling all witches, ghouls, ghosts, and goblins! Dress up your car (and yourself) at the Fall Festival’s Trunk-or-Treat fundraiser for the 11th and 12th grade Close Up trip to Washington D.C. in March.
Head to the Block Island School on Sunday, Oct. 29 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for games, trunk-or-treating, kids activities, costumes, and some early holiday shopping — some vendors from the Farmers Market will be on site, too! (Rain date is Oct. 30 at 5:30 p.m.)
Trunk-or-treat events bring Halloween to parking lots where kids go from car to car and pick up candy. The best part of this fun tradition? Decorating your car's trunk to match a specific theme you choose. Some people keep it simple, and others go all out.
The "trick" is displaying it in your trunk as creatively as possible. If you've got Christmas lights, sports gear, cardboard, or fake cobwebs, you can have a creepy or cool trunk in a flash. Prizes will be awarded.
Decorate your car or truck trunk in any theme you want, and show it off at the Fall Festival. The $25 entry fee helps the Juniors and Seniors raise some money to help defray costs for their trip to D.C.
Close Up, a week-long trip to our nation’s capitol, is designed to inform, inspire, and empower students to become more active citizens. Bring the whole family in costume and enjoy an afternoon of fun, games, face painting, and going from trunk to trunk collecting candy from community members who have decorated their vehicles.
