Fredrick A. Steele passed away April 10, 2017, at he age of 90, at his home in Greenfield, N.H.
Fred was born Dec. 18, 1926, in New York, the youngest of six children, and raised in East Hampton, N.Y.

Over the years, he built foundations and chimneys, plastered rooms in new and old houses, did ceramic tile jobs, fixed cars, refinished furniture, and some carpentry, and drove a taxi. Fred enjoyed telling stories and being involved with the goings-on on the island and sharing his opinion.
He is survived by six children and spouses; Mike and Denise Steele, Robin Steele, Jennifer and Robert Howe, Matthew Steele, Pamela Button, Heidi and Mike Thibault, and daughter-in-law Jan Steele. He was predeceased by his oldest son Christopher A. Steele. Also survived by 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
