Reminder: 2021 Dog Licenses
All dog licenses expire on April 30.
Dog owners are required to renew dog
licenses annually by May 1.
New licenses are available at any time
for puppies over six (6) months and dog
owners who move here. No license shall be
required for any puppy under the age of six
(6) months.
All 2021 dog licenses will continue to be
processed using the US Mail or by appointment. (Please call 401-466-3200 to schedule.)
TO RENEW YOUR DOG’S LICENSE:
Bring in or mail the information required
(below), to the Town Clerk’s Office, PO Box
220, Block Island, RI 02807 (with a self-addressed stamped envelope). We will return the
rabies certificate to you along with the new dog
license, O-ring and tag via US Mail.

NEW SHOREHAM SCHOOL
DEPARTMENT
BLOCK ISLAND SCHOOL
SERVICES/SUPPLIES BIDS
The New Shoreham School Department
(NSSD) hereby requests sealed bid proposals for
the following services and supplies for the 2021-
2022 fiscal/school year (may consider proposals
for up to three years) unless otherwise noted.
School Bus Transportation – Provision of
one full-sized bus to be used for approximately
75 students for 180 days from the beginning of
school in September through the end of school
in June. Please include cost for extra trips during
the school day for various school functions.
Vendor will assume responsibility for driver,
proper maintenance, and obtaining liability and
other insurance ($1 million coverage required).
Results of annual health examination required.
School Department will provide monitor and
fuel for period used by School Department.
Information is available on the above bids
by calling the Block Island School, 401-466-
7732, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30
p.m. Sealed bid proposals, in an envelope clearly marked “2021-2022 School Bid”, will be
received on behalf of the New Shoreham School
Committee by Laura Breunig, Administrative
Assistant, Block Island School, High Street, P.O.
Box 1890, Block Island, Rhode Island 02807
until 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 12, 2021,
at which time they will be publicly opened
and read aloud. Sealed bid proposals will be
received by US. mail, Federal Express, UPS, or
similar third party carrier, or by hand-delivery,
but not by electronic means.
All accepted contracts will run from July
1, 2021, through June 30, 2022. The New
Shoreham School Committee (NSSC) reserves
the right to accept or reject any and all bids
deemed to be not in the best interest of the New
Shoreham School Department (NSSD). The
NSSC reserves the right to reject any bid not
submitted in accordance with the provisions set
forth herein and may waive any informalities
and all bids. Conditional bids will not be accepted. Further, the NSSC does not obligate itself to
accept the lowest or any other bids.

The undersigned, Finance Director for the Town
of New Shoreham on behalf of the New Shoreham
Board of Sewer Commissioners, hereby gives notice that she will sell at public auction to the highest
bidder in the Council Chambers or other suitable
location based upon then-existing COVID-19 protocols, Town Hall, 16 Old Town Road, Block Island, Rhode Island, on the 30th day of April, 2021
at 10:00 a.m. Local Time, the following described
parcels of real estate (for the levy upon which notice is hereby given) or so much thereof as may
be necessary to pay the taxes and/or assessments
which constitute a lien thereon, together with the
costs and interest thereon, and the costs and charges
incident to this sale.
Each of the following described parcels of real
estate will be sold for the payment of the sewer fees
assessed. Information as to the nature of the said
fees and the amounts due on the several parcels may
be obtained from the undersigned, and will be announced at the sale.
For a more particular description of the said
estates, reference is hereby made to the records
and plats in the office of the Clerk of Town of New
Shoreham.
Be advised that if your property in which you
have a substantial interest is sold at tax sale, then
you have one year to redeem it through the Town
of New Shoreham Finance Office or through the
tax sale purchaser by tendering the sewer fees paid,
plus a ten percent penalty on the tax sale amount,
plus one percent interest on the tax sale amount per
month from the seventh month onward.
After the passage of one year, you may exercise
your right to redeem through the tax sale purchaser or said purchaser’s attorney, or, if a petition to
foreclose your right of redemption has been filed in
Superior Court, you may redeem through the Court
until a final decree is entered forever foreclosing
your right of redemption.
