To the Editor:
On behalf of the Block Island Lions Club, I would like to thank all who participated in the success of our Annual Clam Bake at the Narragansett Inn on Saturday, Sept. 2. This is our biggest event and we count on its success so we can make appreciable donations to our community.
The Block Island Lions, the Leos, and good friends of the Lions Club, work tirelessly to organize and create a day full of good food, friends and fun.
I am reluctant to list all the generous businesses who contribute to this event for fear I miss someone, and I apologize in advance if I do! But it is so important to recognize The Narragansett Inn; Rita, Ross, and Steve Draper for welcoming us to the site, Kimberly’s, Kittens/Winfields, Lamb’s Package Service and Grant’s hard work, Robbie Brown’s Septic Service, Block Island Recycling Management, the Ladies Auxillary, Block Island Gourmet/The Sullivan House, Block Island Fish Works, Block Island Grocery, Red Bird, Block Island Maritime Institute, Taserite, Pier Ice, The Block Island Chamber of Commerce, The Block Island Times, Sea Pod, and the band (John Whitaker, Steve Lighty and Bill Sellars) for such great entertainment.
As equally important, we thank all who attended and personally contributed to the event. It’s the people who make the party and it was a good one!
Lion Gail Hall
President of the Block Island Lions Club
