To the Editor:
First and foremost, thank you to Mason for being an incredible inspiration of courage and class. In your 10 years of life, you have mastered the fine art of strength and kindness. You have an entire community behind you, cheering you through this.
Next, thank you to every single person on this amazing island called Block Island that came out to support our hero. When we started planning this event, we hoped for a modest level of attendance. We were absolutely stunned by everyone who came out on a cold, rainy, Tuesday night in the middle of January. Your level of enthusiasm and generosity was fantastic!
To Magic Rob Martin, we were once again blown away by how you captivated the entire room (including at least ten little kiddos) with your auctioneer skills! We are grateful. Kristen Kiley, without you opening Yellow Kittens and hosting this event, none of this would have happened. Thank you. Chris Warfel, your oysters were delicious … so tasty. Lars Trodson, I am personally grateful to you for your guidance and support. The generosity of The Block Island Times in donating space and the article about Mason’s upcoming journey is appreciated. The Mary D. Fund really saved the day for this entire event, and we are so thankful.
Nope … not done yet. This next paragraph is the reason this fundraiser was so successful. I hope you will read each and every name in this paragraph, because these people made incredible and generous donations. We cannot thank you enough. So, here we go:
