Message from NAMI-BI
The following messaged was shared today, Wednesday, Sept. 9 by the National Alliance on Mental Illness chapter on Block Island:
We were all saddened to hear the news of a young seasonal worker’s suicide here on Block Island. Our sincere condolences go out to the family and friends of this individual. These are extremely stressful times not only for our community but for our nation as a whole. We want to remind everyone that there is help available; the National Suicide Prevention Hotline is 1-800-237-8255. If you are concerned about a family member or friend’s mental state, there are also resources here on island which you can access by calling NAMI-BI at (401) 862-3638 or calling our Medical Center at (401) 466-2974 ext. 3. Stay safe and healthy.
