The newly rebuilt Mill Pond Bridge was tagged with graffiti last week, resulting in swift condemnation by many and quick action by the Highways Department to clean it up. Town officials discovered the graffiti on the newly renovated structure on Thursday, July 12. The graffiti covered a portion of the culvert that contains new bricks that were merged with the original 100-year old bricks.

The New Shoreham Highways Department said the paint could not be removed with a power washer. It was covered with a coat of paint later that afternoon.

J.H. Lynch & Sons completed renovations to the bridge and Old Town Road on June 7, 2018. The project came with a budget of approximately $820,000.
