No movement on wind farm legislation
05/29/10 - According to state Sen. Susan Sosnowski, “the ball has not been dropped” on new legislation in both the House and Senate that would allow for the contract reached between National Grid and Deepwater Wind to be considered again by four governor-appointed agency heads. Sosnowski, who represents Block Island and was one of the sponsors of the Senate bill, said meetings have been ongoing in the last week in an attempt to find language all parties could live with. There is no new bill as of yet, she said, but if one appears it could be voted upon in committee this coming Wednesday.
Personally, she said she would like to see two more people serving on the Public Utilities Commission to supplement the current three members.
