New Shoreham Town Council Budget Schedule
The Town Council will hold budget work sessions at Town Hall, Old Town Road on the following dates and times. Members of the public are welcome and encouraged to attend the remaining sessions.
Tues. March 28, 2017, 4:00 p.m. Budget Work Session
Wed. April 5, 2017, 4:00 p.m. Budget Public Hearing
Wed. April 19, 2017, 7:00 p.m. Warrant Adoption
Financial Town Meeting will be Monday, May 1, 2017, at 7:00 at the Block Island School on High Street.

Public Notice: Dog Licenses 2017
2017 Dog Licenses will be available at the Town Hall beginning Monday April 3, 2017. Proof of current rabies vaccination must be provided before a license can be issued. The fee for each license is $6.00. Dog owners are required to renew dog licenses annually by May 1, 2017.
New licenses are available at any time for puppies over six (6) months and dog owners who move here. No license shall be required for any puppy under the age of six (6) months.

Sealed bids for general contractors will be received by NEW SHOREHAM SEWER COMMISSIONERS until 1:00 P.M. for the LINE CLEANING & CCTV INSPECTION OF SEWER SYSTEM at the office of the Town Manager, Old Town Road, Block Island, RI on APRIL 6, 2017 and at that time and place, bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Contract Documents may be obtained at the office of James J. Geremia & Associates, Inc., 272 West Exchange St., Suite 201, Providence, RI between the hours of 8:30 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, after March 24, 2017 or at the Town Managers Office, New Shoreham Town Hall, Old Town Road, Block Island, RI. Documents can only be obtained by general contract bidders.
Contract Documents will be provided on disk in .pdf format and will be sent by mail (via USPS). If Bidder requests the Contract Documents to be forwarded by Federal Express, the shipping fee will be borne by the Bidder. Bidder is to provide their Federal Express account number.
Each Bid shall be submitted (in duplicate) in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
No Bidder may withdraw their Bid for a period of one hundred twenty (120) days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays, after the date of the opening of the Bids.

The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids if deemed to be in its best interest.

Pursuant to R.I. Gen. Laws § 39-3-11, the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) will conduct a public hearing on Friday, April 14, 2017 @ 9:30 AM. in Hearing Room A at the PUC’s office located at 89 Jefferson Boulevard, Warwick, Rhode Island. At this hearing, the PUC will examine the propriety of a filing by the Block Island Power Company (Company) seeking approval of the Company’s proposed procurement plan to obtain competitively priced wholesale power supply to meet its Standard Offer Service supply for the six-month period of approximately April through September 2017. The Company also seeks approval to recover the purchase power costs and associated transmission costs through the implementation of proposed Standard Offer and Transmission Tariffs and to revise its current rates to reflect the new tariff language.
