Reconsideration of Stipulations on Beverage (Liquor) License
Notice is hereby given, that the New Shoreham Board of License Commissioners will reconsider the stipulations attached to the Class BV beverage license granted to:
•    Club Soda, Inc., Stockholders: Maxon G. Balmforth, Jr. & Glenn C. McKiernan, d/b/a Club Soda, Connecticut Avenue, Plat 17, Lot 7-2
Before acting on the foregoing, the Board of License Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Town Hall, Old Town Road, at which time remonstrants are entitled to be heard before the granting of said licenses.

Invitation to Bid
The Block Island Land Trust is soliciting bids for regular maintenance of its properties.  Bids will be solicited only once per year.  All bids must be submitted on the required BID PROPOSAL form.  Only one copy of the form is required.  Bid packets, including proposal form and specifications, and maps (if needed) are available upon request from the Block Island Land Trust.  Please contact Heidi Tarbox at 860-468-0145 or  
Bids will be received by the Block Island Land Trust until 11:30 a.m. local time on Monday, January 9, 2012.  Bids will be opened and read aloud at the January 9, 2012 Land Trust meeting at 2:45 p.m. at the Town Hall, Old Town Road, Block Island. Bids may be awarded at that time.  The Land Trust reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
Insurance:  Mowing contractors are required to carry liability insurance consistent with Town of New Shoreham requirements.  Proof of this insurance must be supplied to the Land Trust with bid.
Properties:   5.255Mowing:  Fresh Pond*; Turnip Farm; K&H Property; Nevas Lot.
Wall Clearing:  Fresh Pond; Ocean View.
Hand Clearing:  DuPont Cartway Trail.

The New Shoreham School Department hereby requests sealed bid proposals for the following services and supplies for the 2012-2013 school year, unless otherwise noted:
Propane Gas
Lawn Maintenance
Freight Delivery
School Bus Transportation (awarded through 2012-2013)
Information is available on the above bids by calling the Block Island School, 466-7732, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.  Sealed bid proposals, in an envelope clearly marked “2012-2013 School Bid”, will be received on behalf of the New Shoreham School Committee by Marsha Gutierrez, Administrative Assistant, Block Island School, High Street, P.O. Box 1890, Block Island, Rhode Island 02807 until 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.  Sealed bid proposals will be received by U.S. mail, Federal Express, UPS, or similar third party carrier, or by hand-delivery, but not by electronic means.
All accepted contracts will run from July 1, 2012, through June 30, 2013.  The New Shoreham School Committee (NSSC) reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids deemed to be not in the best interest of the New Shoreham School Department (NSSD).  The NSSC reserves the right to reject any bid not submitted in accordance with the provisions set forth herein and may waive any informalities and all bids.  Conditional bids will not be accepted.  Further, the NSSC does not obligate itself to accept the lowest or any other bids.

The New Shoreham School Committee, at its meeting held on Monday, November 21, 2011, approved the posting of the following policies for the required 30-day period prior to adoption:
