LEGAL NOTICE

of hearings on an applications for Variances, Special Use Permits an Appeals under the Zoning Ordinance.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town of New Shoreham Zoning Board of Review will be in session at the Town Hall, Old Town Road on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 5:00 PM for a regular meeting.

All persons interested will be heard for or against the granting of the following applications under the Zoning Ordinances:

1. Fox, Timothy and Anthony.  Plat 16, Lot 87. Application for a Variance from 306(C) for construction of a porch.

2. Block Island Land Trust and Block Island Conservancy, Inc. Plat 5, Lot 5-3 & 5-5. Application for a Special Use Permit under Section 310(E), 314(C), 318 and 410to create a recreational area with parking for cars and bicycles, footpaths, observation platform and a stabilized, historic foundation for public recreational use.

The Town of New Shoreham Planning Board will be in session for a meeting on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 7:00 P.M. at the Town Hall, Old Town Road, Block Island, RI.

AGENDA

1. Discussion of a memorandum from Don Thimble, Wastewater Management Inspector regarding proposed changes to Zoning Section 506, Chapter 19, Article VII Wastewater Management Ordinance, and Chapter Utilities Article IV Wastewater Treatment System.

2. Hill, Henry and Carol. Plat 17, Lot 32. Request for a mylar to be signed off as subdivision is not required.

3. Block Island Land Trust and Block Island Conservancy, Inc. Plat 5, Lot 5-3 & 5-5. Application for an Administrative Subdivision to combine Lots 5-3, and 5-5 into a single Lot 5-3.

4. Block Island Land Trust and Block Island Conservancy, Inc. Plat 5, Lot 5-3 & 5-5. Advisory to the Zoning Board for an  Application for a Special Use Permit under Section 310(E), 314(C), 318 and 410to create a recreational area with parking for cars and bicycles, footpaths, observation platform and a stabilized, historic foundation for public recreational use.

5. Law, Ann. Plat 6, Lot 136. Advisory to the Zoning Board for an Application for a Special Use Permit under Sections 311 (E) and 408 for an addition to an existing Inn.

6. LCAS Sub-Committee – recommend “public” members for Planning Board approval and present to Town Council.

7. Review of comprehensive plan update and set dates for future meetings.

Separate sealed Bids will be received by the Town of New Shoreham for: Exterior painting of entire building trim and front door at the Island Free Library on or before 2:00 PM on Monday,  May 19, 2014 at the office of the Town Manager and will be publicly opened and read in public.

Specifications may be obtained by calling (401) 466-3213 or by email; townmanager@new-shoreham.com or on the Town’s website at www. new-shoreham.com.

SPECIAL MEETING

MONDAY • MAY 12, 2014 • 1 p.m.

Town Hall, Old Town Road, Block Island

1) Presentation by Rural Community Assistance Program (RCAP) regarding Asset Management

A specialist from RCAP will be coming to the island to discuss the benefits of implementing an Asset Management Program with Commissioners. All are encouraged to attend as this is a program that could greatly support the sustainability of our drinking and waste water utilities on Block Island.
