Roll Call Dinner is Oct. 23
Since Roll Call last year, the Harbor Church has seen many changes, to the exterior, obvious to everyone who gets mail, to the interior, particularly the renovation of the long-vacant third floor to four year-round apartments, and to our congregation, wherein we said goodbye to Pastor Steve and Becca Hollaway as they entered retirement and welcomed a new shepherd, Pastor Peter Preiser and his wife, Carrie Johnson.
This year, Roll Call Dinner, our own “Church Holiday,” falls on Tuesday, Oct. 23, the 253rd anniversary of the formal gathering of the congregation. Led again by Diane Tripler and her First Assistant Donn Frageau, with the support of many, many helpers, we expect another splendid evening of food and fellowship, a full turkey dinner and a chance to greet friends and neighbors after this long summer.
This dinner is our own pre-Thanksgiving, when the church does all the worrying about cooking the dinner and cleaning the house. The dinner is a fund-raiser and we ask you to please be generous; we could never do the work we do, could never keep our doors as open as we do without the on-going support of the community.
We hope to see you Tuesday, Oct. 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Harbor Church. Come hungry. — Martha Ball
